With Doctor Who season 7 set to air later this year, the many (many) months of waiting for new episodes may be a bit much for Whovians to bear. Fortunately, YouTube user “BabelColour” has created the perfect compilation to help satisfy fans’ much-needed fix for the Doctor.

Spanning almost 50 years, Babelcolour’s tribute combines all of the available episodes of Doctor Who, from 1963-2011, into a single 10-minute video. The use of the word “available” refers to the fact that there are 106 episodes of Doctor Who missing from the BBC’s television archives.

Besides providing a wonderful platform for new Doctor Who fans to experience the series’ origins, it also serves as a visual episode guide, from which fans could highlight specific episodes to later watch in their entirety.

Fan-Made ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer, ‘Dragon Tattoo’ Style

‘Every journey has its end’ is the big tagline for The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final chapter in Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy. However, it’s hard to know where you’re going, if you don’t know where you’ve been – and although some fans were put off by the old ground that was covered in the Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer, maybe they just didn’t have the material presented to them in an exciting enough way?

To that end, YouTube user “LittleMissAngel16” (slightly creepy name) has created a Dark Knight Rises trailer that looks back over the events of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in the hyper-kinetic, quick-cut style of David Fincher’s Girl With The Dragon Tattoo teaser trailer.

Here’s one of the better parody trailers we’ve seen in quite some time. The production quality and trailer editing is good enough to trick some people into thinking this might be a trailer for an actual upcoming film (or at least a direct-to-DVD B-movie). We wouldn’t blame you if you thought this was “real,” because Shark Pool is a movie concept that is so absurd that it would fit right in with today’s B-movies like Piranha 3DD and Shark Night.

It’s no secret that these actual films have become a parody of themselves. At first they served as comedic nods to their predecessors (like Jaws). But as audiences crave more and studios bare it all, these films have reached the point of total lunacy. ‘The Avengers’ Trailer Parody: It’s Basically ‘Iron Man 3′

It was only a matter of time until we got a (quality) parody of The Avengers trailer, and as usual, the Internet hath provided.

Bryan Harley and a few of his pals at DumbDrum.com got together to shoot their own version of the theatrical trailer for The Avengers, which they hope to enter in the upcoming Swede Fest 8.

Inspired by the Michel Gondry film Be Kind Rewind, Swede Fest showcases films that have been “sweded” – i.e., recreated by amateurs. Like the protagonists in Gondry’s film, these “sweded” works often feature hilariously low production values, sharp observation about what makes a film cool (or less than cool), and a general sense of good fun being had by people who like movies.

The newest Pixar animated feature, Cars 2, hits theaters this summer, which can only mean one thing: another Screen Rant trailer mashup! We’ve titled our latest creation Cars 2: Fast Five.

The characters of Cars 2 head to the body shop for a major overhaul when new voices take control of the once G-rated sequel and turn it into a PG-13 heist adventure. We’ve combined the colorful visuals of the Cars 2 trailer with the macho action movie that launched the summer season, Fast Five.

SR Pick [Video]: I’m a Marvel…and I’m a DC: Green Lantern vs. X-Men: First Class

Green Lantern and X-Men: First Class have a lot in common. For one thing, both films are ranked among the summer’s most anticipated superhero movies, even though each of them faced early criticism from fanboys (Green Lantern for unfinished CGI, X-Men for continuity issues).

While Green Lantern doesn’t come out for another couple of weeks (June 17th), X-Men: First Class has been received well by critics (check out our First Class review). Will Green Lantern find the same success?

At this point, taking shots at the Star Wars prequels is a bit like kicking someone when they’re already down. We all know they were terrible and we’re all extremely well-versed in the reasons they were such a crushing disappointment (at least most of us are).

Rather than regurgitate the same old list of complaints, Bridge Stuart & Mike Litzenberg have channeled their resentment towards fanboy scourge George Lucas in a rather clever and sardonic way. The pair have created a trailer for a fake film titled George Lucas Strikes Back that offers another explanation for what went so horribly wrong with Episodes I, II, and III.

SR Pick: I’m a Marvel…and I’m a DC: Thor vs. Green Lantern

Without a doubt, the biggest brawl this summer isn’t happening on the big screen, but at the box office, where Marvel’s Thor will face off against DC’s Green Lantern to prove which heavyweight hero is the fanboy favorite.

The mighty God of Thunder swung his hammer into theaters today and has received generally favorable reviews so far (check our Thor review here). Still, the most recent trailers for Green Lantern suggest that Ryan Reynolds and company may turn in an epic piece of escapist cinema, not to mention one that isn’t bogged down by the overarching narrative of The Avengers.

Here at Screen Rant, we love movie mash-ups. Whether it’s an epic preview of things to come (Ultimate 2011 Summer Movie Trailer) or an imaginative twist on a couple of blockbusters (Inception/Toy Story 3 Mash-Up), it’s always fun to see someone take a fresh look at film footage and come up with something new and unique.

That’s why we were so excited when we came across this new mash-up video called The Batman Complex. The video, structured as a full-length movie trailer, comes from YouTube user themanbatman. We at Screen Rant like to think we have our finger on the pulse of what is cool, edgy, and fun when it comes to all things TV and movie related. Besides bringing you the latest TV and movie news every day, we also find time to share some movie and TV related items that aren’t quite mainstream but we feel are worthy your attention nonetheless.

Such is the case today with a fantastic video for a Japanese CG animated show call Cat Shit One. Don’t let the semi-vulgar title fool you – the entire show is well written with better dialog than some big budget action films. Essentially, Cat Sh*t One has graphics and military action reminiscent of cut scenes from popular video games like Call of Duty.

SR Pick: Tom Cruise & Simon Pegg Take Brad Bird Hostage for Award Speech

Many animation fans were disappointed when famed animated film director Brad Bird opted to join the ranks of the live action elite, by helming the upcoming Mission: Impossible sequel Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Fans of Bird’s high-profile Pixar film The Incredibles, who are still holding out hope for an Incredibles 2, should brace for bad news. Brad Bird is done with animation and he couldn’t be happier – at least according to his Winsor McCay Award acceptance speech.

While many moviegoers were anxiously awaiting new trailers for blockbuster films such as Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Captain America, Super 8, and Battle: Los Angeles during this Sunday’s Super Bowl, on Saturday night the International Animated Film Society gathered to celebrate the best animated films of the the past year.

SR Pick: The Cars Behind the G1 Autobot Transformers

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is nearing completion – as the film rolls toward its July 1, 2011 debut in theaters.

However, many Transformers die-hards still haven’t forgiven Bay for “destroying” their childhood with his updated interpretation of the robots in disguise and today, we’ve got an awesome (and especially thorough) infographic that shows a number of the G1-style Autobots (in robot and vehicle form) – as well as identifies their real-world vehicle counterparts.

The infographic comes courtesy of Comics Alliance and features a number of series favorites including Optimus Prime (a 1984 Freightliner Semi), Bumblebee (a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle), Ironhide (a 1978 Nissan Onebox Vanette), Ratchet (a similarly fashioned 1978 Nissan Onebox Vanette Ambulance), Cliff Jumper (a 1983 Porsche 911 Turbo), and Prowl (a 1979 Nissan 280ZX Police Car).

Last summer’s Grindhouse spin-off Machete got a lot of bad political press because of the way it dealt with the topic of illegal immigration, but if you tuck all the personal political feelings aside the film was made just like Danny Trejo – mean, wrinkled and bad as hell!

Machete turned out to be nothing more than a campy B-movie filled with over-the-top violence, nudity and gore – but if in your mind those things combine to make a good movie, then you should enjoy video we have below.

The end of 2010 is nigh and with it comes the expected avalanche of features, articles, and videos chronicling the best/worst movies to hit theaters over the past 365 days or so. Whether you think 2010 was a weak or strong year for cinema overall, there’s no denying that it had its share of poignant drama, side-splitting humor, nightmarish horror, gritty action, and lots of eye-popping visuals in both 2D and 3D.
