Secret Empire is a Marvel Comics crossover series written by author Nick Spencer. The ten-issue series acted as a follow-up to the Avengers: Standoff! comics and revealed Captain America was a sleeper agent for Hydra. Despite having a complex story, the limited series got mixed reviews upon its release in 2017.
