Summary

After discovering their parents are super-villains in disguise, a group of teenagers band together to run away from their homes in order to atone for their parents' actions and to discover the secrets of their origins. This Hulu original series is based on the Marvel comic of the same name, which was created by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona. The title originally debuted on the company's Tsunami imprint in 2003, and was later cancelled in September 2004 after 18 issues were published. Due to high numbers of sales, however, Marvel brought Runaways back for a revival run that started in February 2005 and continued through 2009. In 2017, Rainbow Rowell and Kris Anka were established as the new Runaways creative team, overseeing another revival that started in September of that year. The characters are known for being a dysfunctional, but loving, family. One key difference between the show and the source material is that the kids' parents, who make up the Pride, do not have superpowers. Initially, Marvel had intended to make a Runaways film as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it was shelved due to the overwhelming success of The Avengers. As the studio's plan changed, it was decided the property would be best served on television, and it will stream on Hulu. Want to know more about Runaways?
