The teaser trailer for Kevin Smith's horror film 'Red State' is now online. Take a look at the effectively creepy stripped-down trailer.

Kevin Smith has spent almost his entire career making movies on his own terms, featuring humor that he finds funny, and often featuring the same characters and actors popping up time and time again (not least of which are his signature creations, Jay and Silent Bob).

While Smith’s next film, Red State, may have still been made on his own terms, it sees him out of his comfort zone and working in the land of horror for the first time.

There’s been a lot of talk around the web about Red State, but today we get our first official teaser trailer for the movie – courtesy of Smith’s own Smodcast.com – to give us a taste of what Smith’s first foray into horror will be like. I have to say, the teaser does a lot ...

Click to continue reading Creepy Teaser Trailer for Kevin Smith’s ‘Red State’

Just about every conceivable cinematic genre is accounted for by the films in this week’s poster roundup, which includes new one-sheets for Cowboys & Aliens, Black Swan, The Beaver, Red State, and Arthur Christmas.

Only one of these pics will be showing at your local theater during the 2010 holiday season, but there’s plenty of reason to be excited for, intrigued by, or cautious about every one of these films. Let’s get to it then, shall we?

Cowboys & Aliens

We’ve been psyched to see Jon Favreau’s latest comic book adaptation for a while now, but it was the Cowboys & Aliens teaser trailer that really got our blood pumping. The film won’t arrive until next summer, but there’s plenty of material that’ll help satiate your desire to watch James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Indiana Jones (Harrison ...

Click to continue reading Movie Poster Roundup: ‘Cowboys & Aliens’, ‘Black Swan’, And More

Every week the studios release several new posters, images or concept art for many of our favorite upcoming films. We could put out each image individually, but unless it’s a first look at a major character, like Iron Man for example, we think it’s much more interesting to present them to our readers all at once.

Today is a busy day because we have posters, images and concept art for 11 different movies. So let’s get to it, shall we?

Below you will find images and synopsis’s for the following films – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, Tangled, Hobo with a Shotgun, Paul, Paris, I’ll Kill You, Life in a Day, The Beaver, Red State, Wolf Creek 2 and the trailer for the Santa-hunting movie Rare Exports: A Christmas ...

Click to continue reading Movie Media: Posters & Images Round-up

Sunday again and that means that it is time for the Weekend Movie News Wrap Up.

This week:

We see who is top of the box office; Kevin Smith ups his budget and goes into space; Brad Pitt goes on an Odyssey and plays an Unfair Game; Liam Neeson and Christina Ricci do Life and Ronin zooms to the small screen.

Box Office

Marky Mark Wahlberg is the box office champion with Max Payne. The film should manage about $20 million over the weekend giving 20th Century Fox their first solid hit in months.

Oliver Stone’s W bucked the political movie trend by making a solid bit of cash. Grossing around $12MM for the weekend the film should be a modest hit. Considering the current political overkill going on in the press this is a considerable coup.

The Secret Life of Bees had a modest opening too, and should match the gross of the Bush ...

Click to continue reading Weekend Movie News Wrap Up: October 19, 2008
