A pop singer. A songwriter. A provocateur. But an alien? Lady Gaga has been massively successful in her career but this Friday, the truth about this meat-wearing woman will be revealed when she’s seen as an extraterrestrial in Men in Black III. In a celebrity-as-alien cameo that the Men in Black series has become infamous for, she reportedly appears alongside fellow celebrities like director Tim Burton and pop superstar, Justin Bieber.

With that in mind, we at Screen Rant came up with a list of ten celebrities that would make great aliens in a Men in Black film. Barry Sonnenfeld has said that he only wanted to use celebrities that would still be well-known in ten years, so we, too, used that criteria in judging our selections.

I’d only be half-kidding if I were to say that 75% of the time that a new leading man role is announced, I hear at least three people in our comment sections nominating Will Smith for the part. In fact, in my line of work I hear the name “Will Smith” mentioned so many times that it’s becoming something of a neurotic tick in my brain. Now that Men in Black 3 is here, Smith’s name has resurfaced once again in the cultural zeitgeist.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will reprise their roles as Agent J and Agent K, respectively, when director Barry Sonnenfeld’s Men in Black 3 opens in theaters this weekend. The seed of the idea for the film was planted a decade ago when Smith had a eureka moment one rainy evening on the set of Men in Black 2, and told Sonnenfeld that for number three he wanted to see J travel back in time.

The director wryly advised that they finish the one they were making and then worry about what came next. With the passage of the ensuing years, the idea developed until Smith, Sonnenfeld and team Men in Black felt it was time to return to the world of aliens, secret agents and Ray Ban™ sunglasses.

New ‘Men in Black 3′ Clip Ties In With Viral YouTube Marketing

With shows like Lost and films like The Dark Knight popularizing the idea of viral marketing to take advantage of the excitement and word-of-mouth potential from their respective fanbases, it’s practically become the norm for major summer blockbusters to employ similar types of alternate reality games (ARGs). Moviegoers in the mood for some light-weight sci-fi entertainment will get just that when Men in Black III hits theaters later this month. Those looking for something with more intellectual substance and genuine 3D eye-candy (as opposed to the MIB threequel’s post-converted effects), will have to wait an extra couple weeks for Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel/spinoff, Prometheus.

Marvel’s The Avengers has officially kicked the summer 2012 movie season off to a record-breaking start, and other studios are no doubt chomping at the bit to get into the game with their own tentpole offerings.

Today we’ve rounded up new promotional images from The Amazing Spider-Man, as well as new TV advertisements for Pixar’s princess fairy tale Brave and the sci-fi threequel Men in Black III. Today’s batch of Summer Movie Season 2012 paraphernalia includes images and posters from a somewhat belated threequel (Men in Black III), a retooling of a centuries-old tale (Snow White and the Huntsman), a revamping of a cash-cow comic book movie franchise (The Amazing Spider-Man), Schwarzenegger, Willis and Stallone shooting things up in The Expendables 2 - and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which bucks the sequel/reboot trend by being equal parts both.

Over the first four months of 2012, moviegoers have been offered a few great films and a bunch of mediocre offerings. But now, the season of summer blockbusters is set to begin with the highly-anticipated release of The Avengers. Featuring a team of superhero superstars including Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, this film is already breaking box office records.

But The Avengers isn’t the only movie to look forward to this month. May 2012 will feature the release of the long-awaited Men in Black III and the international blockbuster Battleship makes its debut in the United States (it’s already opened overseas).

Buzz around the upcoming Men in Black III has improved in recent months – thanks to the release of an overall decent full-length trailer, coupled with the promise of both new inspired celebrity “alien” cameos and imaginative extraterrestrials designed by makeup/effects icon, Rick Baker. Hence, there’s been more reason to suspect that MIB 3 could both rake in lots of dough and leave moviegoers wanting… well, Men in Black IV, basically.

Barry Sonnenfeld Reveals ‘Men in Black 3′ ‘Alien’ Cameos; New Images

Numerous production delays, as well as uninspiring story details, left a lot of film fans groaning at the prospect of Men in Black 3. However, following the release of the full Men in Black 3 trailer that, among other encouraging elements, features a spot-on Tommy Lee Jones impression from Josh Brolin, audiences and industry insiders alike began to wonder if director Barry Sonnenfeld might actually be able to pull an entertaining sci-fi adventure out of the seemingly troubled production.

While story, and the buddy-cop chemistry between Smith and Jones (as well as Smith and Brolin this round) will certainly play a large part in the success of the film, odd-ball celebrity cameos are another fan-favorite aspect of prior entries that the team will have to get right in part three. As a result, which familiar faces have the filmmakers included as aliens masquerading in human flesh for Men in Black 3?

Today we have new images from two high-profile blockbuster sequels coming in 2012: the third chapter in the Men in Black movie franchise (aptly titled Men in Black III), as well as the second chapter (which is also something of a fresh start) for the G.I. Joe movie franchise, G.I. Joe Retaliation.
