Tarantino Making a Western?; ‘Kill Bill’ Full Version Screening In U.S.

There’s a couple of news items of the Quentin Tarantino variety that have popped up this week: The first is that the director is apparently making a Spaghetti Western as his next directorial project, with a solid cast of actors already lined up.

The second bit of news is that at long last, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, the full-length cut of Tarantino’s epic revenge flick, will be shown in U.S. Theaters.

Regarding this Spaghetti Western: The Playlist spotted a story on Italian film site Movie Player, in which Italian actor Franco Nero was quoted at the Los Angeles Italia Festival as saying that he his next project was a Sergio Leone-esque spaghetti western that was attracting a several Hollywood ...

The Expendables has pretty much punched its way into theaters on swagger alone, by collecting some of the most badass tough guys ever to appear onscreen into one unbeatable team. With names like Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Terry Crews, and Mickey Rourke all in one film (with appearances from Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, no less), it’s hard to dispute that The Expendables is an impressive collection of name-taking ass-kickers.

There is a long list of awesome weapons in film history, and it’s about time we narrow it down to the top 25 (in our all-knowing, unerring opinion).

The inception of this list came while watching Iron Man and the scene where Tony Stark presented the amazingly destructive Jericho Missile. Then again, maybe it truly began when I bought a replica Hattori Hanzo sword at C2E2 a month ago. Either way, we’ve all been fascinated by the technology filmmakers come up with, and weapons tend to be at the top of amazing innovations that catch the filmgoer’s eye.

Tarantino News: Kill Bill Lawsuit, Weinstein Documentary & Smurf Rumors

Quentin Tarantino may not have made it onto the stage at last week’s Oscar ceremony, but that doesn’t mean he’s taking a breather from the spotlight: The director is defending the Kill Bill franchise against a lawsuit and is also reportedly considering tackling a documentary about Harvey Weinstein – oh, and just in case you were wondering, he’s not going to be voicing a Smurf.

As the name suggests, Unauthorized: The Harvey Weinstein Project is an unauthorized film about Miramax creator and Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein, to be directed and produced by Barry Avrich, best known for his hard-hitting documentary The Last Mogul, which was about Lew R. Wasserman. However, the production has hit a major road block – Tarantino might already be considering a similar project.

I’m going to throw out a few movie titles: Reservoir Dogs, The English Patient, Clerks, Pulp Fiction, My Left Foot, The Piano, Shakespeare In Love, Trainspotting, Good Will Hunting, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Swingers, and Chicago.

Now I’m going to toss you a few names you might recognize: Quentin Tarantino, Steven Soderbergh, Jon Favreau, Anna Paquin, Kevin Smith, Daniel Day-Lewis, Matt Damon, Ewan McGregor, Renee Zellweger, Holly Hunter, Ralph Fiennes and John Travolta.

Kill Bill 3 NOT Tarantino’s Next Movie & Title Will Change

When writer/director, Quentin Tarantino, announced his plans to make Kill Bill 3 a couple of months ago, one of the many speculative questions on fans’ lips was how can they make a Kill Bill 3 if the titular Bill [spoiler alert!] was killed at the end of Vol. 2? [end spoiler]. The saga of Uma Thurman’s yellow-haired, sword-wielding Bride was tied up perfectly at the end of the second film, and it’s just not possible to carry on the story of her and Bill (because there is no story to continue!).

We recently learned that Inglourious Basterds writer/director, Quentin Tarantino is officially planning to do a third installment in his Kill Bill saga. “The Bride will fight again!” shouted QT in his trademark enthusiastic way on the Italian talk show, Talk To Me. He revealed he wants pt. 3 to take place 10 years after the events of Kill Bill Vol.2, presumably so that (SPOILER alert) Vernita Green’s daughter can be old enough to track down The Bride to get revenge for killing her mother right in front of her (that seems the most logical plot for a third movie).

Tarantino Announces His Intention To Make Kill Bill 3

If, like me, you’re a huge fan of writer/director Quentin Tarantino, you will be excited by this little piece of news from BadTaste.it: He intends to continue the messy adventures of The Bride with a third Kill Bill movie! During an interview on the Italian chat show Parla con Me (or “Talk To Me”), Tarantino was asked (from what I can understand – the questions are being asked in Italian) if he would be making any follow up films to his previous work, and after saying, “it will never happen,” to a Pulp Fiction sequel, he reveals his intention to make Kill Bill 3.

Tarantino Updates ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’

At the start of this year Screen Rant reported on the fact that Quentin Tarantino is still on the road to bringing us the long-awaited, full, four-plus-hour version of Kill Bill that he originally intended. Fast-forward seven months, and even though we still haven’t seen Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair materialize in stores, Tarantino has updated us on the status of the project, continuing to promise that it’s still on its way.

Last time we reported on the promised full version of Kill Bill, several different details were revealed about what would differ from the separate Vol.1 and Vol.2 releases. Some of the details were that the black-and-white “House of Blue Leaves” fight sequence will be in color; that there will be gorier anime sequences; and no “baby cliffhanger” that’s at the end ...

David Carradine Dies At 72

BBC is reporting that actor David Carradine has been found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand. According to Carradine’s personal manager, Chuck Binder, the actor was in Bangkok filming a new movie called Stretch.

Binder has spoken briefly about Carradine in the wake of this sudden news:

“[The news is] shocking… He was full of life, always wanting to work… a great person.”

David Carradine was best known for his role as Caine in Kung Fu back in the ’70s and had a recent resurgence as the titled Bill in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. During a career that spanned more than four decades, Carradine also starred in the likes of Death Race 2000, The Warrior and the Sorceress, the TV show Alias and many other film and TV roles. Tarantino Says Full ‘Kill Bill’ Movie Is Still Coming

It’s been a pattern of Quentin Tarantino’s to announce, promise and re-promise plans to do new films and update old projects. A prime example of the latter is his promise that the full, four-plus hour version of Kill Bill (as was originally intended, by the way) would be put together and released on DVD.

But he’s promised this on more than one occasion that it will happen and it hasn’t. However his reason for it not coming out yet this time around is that he’s been busy with Inglourious Basterds, which I think is an excuse we can all accept this time. And it seems, now, that the full Kill Bill movie is still on its way and not only that but according to Tarantino himself some extra/different content will be added too:
