Summary

The creative minds behind the hit Insidious trilogy return for Insidious: The Last Key. The franchise welcomes back standout Lin Shaye as Dr. Elise Rainier, the brilliant parapsychologist who faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet: in her own family home. This film is the fourth overall installment in the Insidious horror film franchise, which began with the original movie back in 2011. The previous three films have all been moderate box office successes, with the property peaking in 2013 with Insidious: Chapter 2 ($83.5 million). The Last Key is second in regards to the in-universe chronology, following the events of Insidious: Chapter 3. It was originally going to be released in October 2017 for Halloween, but studio Blumhouse Productions pushed it back for Happy Death Day instead. Principal photography took place in 2016.
