Summary
Officially announced in 2019, Hocus Pocus 2 is a direct sequel to the 1993 Disney film Hocus Pocus, which followed the return of the Sanderson Sisters, witches who were hanged in Salem in the 17th century for prolonging their youth by stealing the life force of children. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker reprise their roles as Winnie, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson, respectively. Twenty-nine years have passed since the Black Flame Candle was lit, and the candle burns due to the actions of curious high-schoolers once again, beckoning the witches back from the other side. Seeking revenge on the residents of Salem for their second damnation, the three high schoolers responsible for the resurrection of the witches will band together to defeat them before dawn on All Hallow's Eve. Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on September 30 2022.
