‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Cast Sign For Seasons 9 &10

For fans worried sick (sorry) over which beloved cast members are going to make it to the next season of Grey’s Anatomy, the prognosis is good. Series originals Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh and Justin Chambers – along with Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. – have all put pen to paper on a deal that will see them return for a ninth and tenth season on the ABC medical drama.

In a radio interview with Carson Daly this week, Dr. McDreamy himself discussed his relief over the end of the long contract negotiations. “It’s just so nice to have a job and it continues on as a wonderful thing, so, very grateful that it’s happening,” says Dempsey. “[I'm] very happy … to move forward and looking forward to another couple of years of the show.”

‘Modern Family’ & ‘Hawaii Five-0′ Top DVR Ratings; ‘Supernatural’ & ‘Fringe’ Gain

Television’s busiest number-crunchers at TV by the Numbers have released their list of the most-recorded shows in America, with ABC’s Modern Family leading the pack. Shows like House, The Event and Supernatural got a significant bump in addition to first-run ratings.

Recorded episodes are making up a bigger and bigger chunk of the television audience, and the trend has been consistent for the 2010-1011 season.

For example, Modern Family scored an average of 11.2 million viewers for every live episode, plus 3.5 million DVR viewers – a whopping 31% increase.

Ready your DVR and replace the batteries in your remote (and, no, switching them around doesn’t count), because it’s that time of year again – to say goodbye to many of your favorite television shows.

While most, if not all, of your favorites shows will be returning this fall, there happens to be a select few series that are signing off for good – even if they’re not yet aware of it. The most notable television show coming to an end this year is Smallville. After 10 years on the air, fans will finally see Clark Kent embrace his destiny and become Superman.

ABC Renews Six Shows, Including ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

The popular and critically-acclaimed comedy Modern Family and the long-running hospital drama Grey’s Anatomy were two of six ABC shows to receive early renewal for a new season. What other shows made the cut? Read on to find out.

Alongside Modern Family – which earned a 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and is nominated for a 2011 Golden Globe for Best Comedy – ABC opted to renew the two other shows in its Wednesday comedy block: The Middle and Cougar Town.

I caught several episodes of The Middle this past year and really enjoyed the show’s style of comedy (solid and only slightly quirky family humor) as well as its talented cast (featuring Everybody Loves Raymond veteran Patricia Heaton and Scrubs veteran Neil Flynn).

For 37 years, the People’s Choice Awards has been celebrating the fan favorites in film, television and music. In preparation for tonight’s awards ceremony, over 35 million votes were cast by the American public in hopes that their favorite film, television series, actor or musician will take home this coveted award.

For the second year in a row, the multifaceted Queen Latifah will be serving as host of this fanatical gala. With over 43 separate categories having to fit within the given timeslot, something tells me that Queen Latifah is going to be forced to move things along at a swift pace in order to fit each category within the 2-hour time-limit.

This week, we chat about Caprica, Supernatural, the NCIS spin-off, a new vampire pilot from The CW, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, Bones, Grey’s Anatomy and some bits about ABC renewing some shows. Bruce’s Public Service Announcement: Be aware that the season premiere of season 4.5 (Is that just not the most ridiculous thing ever?) of Battlestar Galactica that is airing this Friday on January 16th will run over by 3 1/2 minutes. That means you need to make the appropriate changes to whatever recording device you may employ, if that is indeed what you are doing. Me, I’m gonna be there live! Despite in-laws crawling all over my place, they’ve been warned. Back off when my show comes on. Grey’s Anatomy – The Gizzie Affair

It would seem to not be looking good for Izzi and George on Grey’s Anatomy. A source close to ABC tells me (The TVGuide poster) that George and Izzie polled 95 percent negative, leading one of the 200 or so participants to conclude that, “Gizzie will be dropped.”

Dang, I was getting used to the anxiety attacks I was getting wondering when George will get caught with Izzi!! Now what am I going to worry about? Until Next Time!
