<p>This week presents some summer blockbusters on DVD and Blu-ray alongside a pair of instant classics. You may not get a lot of choices this week, but there is definitely something new to watch.</p>
<p>Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz get a second chance to earn bank with <em>Knight and Day</em>, while <em>The Sorcerer&#8217;s Apprentice</em> is just happy to be out of <em>Inception</em>&#8216;s limelight &#8211; a problem it had when it released in the same week as Chris Nolan&#8217;s mind-bending blockbuster.</p>

<p>There is also a sneaky champion amidst the three new releases this week; the best film of the trio actually made the least at this summer&#8217;s box office.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Summertime and all that easy living is now done, and unless you&#8217;re one of those people who lives where the sun is always shining then the onset of Fall means four things: colder weather, earlier sunsets, heavier clothing and movies galore.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Yes, the summer has all those big blockbusters we&#8217;ve been waiting all year to see, but Fall is the time when we actually <em>want</em> to be in the movie theater: when being outdoors is no longer an attractive alternative and the cinema offers many, many, award-worthy films. A few of them even stand the chance of being pretty good.</p>

<p>According to Variety:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;The book takes the form of a Sotheby&#8217;s-like estate auction catalog, with 325 entries and photographs depicting items that reveal the private moments and the rise and fall of a four-year relationship between the fictitious couple Hal Morris (a 40ish photographer) and Lenore Doolan (a New York Times food columnist in her late 20s).&#8221;</p></blockquote>
