This week’s home video releases are practically an extension of the fanboy universe put on display at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. From a film about fanboys to the latest installment from the Batman universe, there is a lot to get excited about this week.

From Academy Award-winning films to a movie about an Academy Award-winning film, the range of this week is a pleasant escape from recent string of bland releases.

Next week will continue the trend, but for now, there are a few reasons to break out your wallet and head to the store.

Cinematical premiered the brand new poster (as seen on the left) and you can easily see the resemblance to the poster from The 40-Year-Old Virgin. It looks like they’re trying to market the film as an Apatow-style comedy and rightfully so since the cast features many familiar faces from the Apatow crew.

The Fanboys cast features Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Dan Fogler, Jay Baruchel and Kristen Bell as the leads playing the group of friends.
