Check your calendar, because Comic-Con 2011 will soon be upon us. With over 70 different TV panels confirmed for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, finding out when and where you’re favorite television series will be appearing is definitely easier said than done.

On top of that, some of Comic-Con’s fan-favorite TV series have been upgraded from the hallowed Ballroom 20, and will now be gracing the 5,000-seat Hall H. So, this year you won’t be able to simply sit in one room all day to catch many of the major television events has to offer at Comic-Con.

Ready your DVR and replace the batteries in your remote (and, no, switching them around doesn’t count), because it’s that time of year again – to say goodbye to many of your favorite television shows.

While most, if not all, of your favorites shows will be returning this fall, there happens to be a select few series that are signing off for good – even if they’re not yet aware of it. The most notable television show coming to an end this year is Smallville. After 10 years on the air, fans will finally see Clark Kent embrace his destiny and become Superman.

Watch 9 Minutes of Family Guy’s Return of the Jedi Spoof ‘It’s A Trap!’

Family Guy closes out its successful series of Star Wars parodies today with the DVD & Blu-Ray release of It’s A Trap! – a Return of the Jedi send-up that once again transforms the cartoon’s cast into the iconic characters from George Lucas’ legendary trilogy.

Last month we got a look at two trailers for It’s A Trap! – the first appeared to be a somewhat faithful recreation of Jedi‘s original trailer and the second was more focused on Family Guy‘s familiar (and often polarizing) sense of humor. What I took away from those sneak peeks was that if you enjoyed Blue Harvest and Something, Something, Something, Dark Side, then you were probably going to enjoy this latest installment.

Two Trailers For ‘Family Guy’ Return of the Jedi Spoof ‘It’s A Trap!’

Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy has been synonymous with “pop culture parody” for years now, so it was appropriate enough that the show’s creators are now unleashing their Return of the Jedi spoof, Family Guy: It’s A Trap!, having already “skewered” the first two entries in the original Star Wars trilogy.

Two new trailers have been released for It’s A Trap!, which offers the same kind of low-brow humor and jokes (here, not subject to TV censors) that has helped Family Guy attract a solid cult following.

It’s A Trap!, replaces the classic Star Wars characters (Han Solo, Luke and Leia Skywalker, Darth Vader, etc.) with the characters from MacFarlane’s cartoon creation, but otherwise leaves the threequel’s plot intact. Universal Takes on Seth MacFarlane’s Movie, ‘Ted’

Universal has officially acquired the rights to Ted, an R-rated comedy that will mark the feature-film directorial debut of edgy TV cartoonmeister Set MacFarlane, a.k.a. the creator of Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show.

So far Ted has been described simply as the tale of a man and his teddy bear. The screenplay for the $65 million project — which will be a mix of live-action and CGI, similar to the recent Alvin & the Chipmunk movies– was written by MacFarlane and his fellow Family Guy scribes, Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

As we all know holidays can be hectic and the last thing you want to worry about is when your favorite TV show is coming back on the air. So, to make sure you’re not left in the dark (like with Fringe and the World Series), we’ve broke it down – geek style – and put together a handy list of Winter premiere and return dates.

The list is organized by network, so all you have to know is where you’ve seen your favorite shows before and you should be able to find them again pretty easily (we made it nice and alphabetical for ya!)

Funnier Trailer For Family Guy ‘Empire Strikes Back’ Parody

About a week or so ago I posted a teaser trailer for “Something, Something, Something, Darkside”, which is Family Guy‘s newest spoof of the Star Wars Trilogy, this time lampooning the happenings of Empire Strikes Back.

I lot of you were happy to see Family Guy doing a follow-up to their hilarious 2007 Star Wars parody, “Blue Harvest”, but thought that the teaser trailer was a bit disappointing in terms of laugh out loud moments.

Well I’m happy to report that there is now a full trailer for “Something, Something, Something Darkside”, and it really does bring the laughs.

To round off this Friday nice and easy, I thought I’d post a little something to get you laughing (or hopefully at least chuckling). Family Guy has become a household name at this point, but the show managed to out do itself back in 2007 with its season 6 premiere, “Blue Harvest”, an hour-long parody of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Well, today we have the trailer for Family Guy’s follow up to “Blue Harvest”, which could only be an equally hilarious skewering of the next film in the Star Wars canon, The Empire Strikes Back.
