Another popular video game will likely make its way to the silver screen. Fallout 3, the most recent of the many award-winning titles by Bethesda Game Studios has passed through the first stage on the way to becoming a feature film.

The folks over at the gaming website Joystiq picked up on some interesting information regarding the Bethesda intellectual property. They found from the US Patent and Trademark Office website that Bethesda filed trademark claims for Fallout in “entertainment services in the nature of an on-going television program” and “motion picture films about a post-nuclear apocalyptic world.”

The Fallout games take place in the future of an alternate timeline where the world was devastated by nuclear war. The more recent (and more successful) Fallout 3 takes place in 2277, nearly four decades after its predecessor and follows the protagonist ...
