‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ Teaser Trailer: Bella’s Out For Blood

Katniss Everdeen may have demolished box office records with a massive opening for Lionsgate’s adaptation of The Hunger Games, but Bella Swan will have another chance to claim the young adult best-seller-turned-blockbuster crown this fall when the final installment in The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens in theaters.

Summit Entertainment (which recently merged with Lionsgate) premiered a teaser trailer for the second half of Breaking Dawn in front of The Hunger Games this past weekend, to take advantage of the millions of Twilight fans who also turned out for Katniss’ big screen debut – and start drumming up interest for Bella’s next cinematic outing.

‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ Trailer Preview Teases The New Bella

The Twilight Saga reaches its (maybe) conclusion when Breaking Dawn – Part 2 arrives in theaters this fall. Now that Lionsgate and Summit are bedfellows, the latter will be using the premiere of the former’s fellow young adult literature blockbuster adaptation (The Hunger Games) later this week to unveil an official teaser trailer for the next chapter in the story of Bella Swan and her vampiric lover Edward Cullen.

Much like it did for the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 theatrical promos – and 20th Century Fox has (over)done with its Prometheus marketing – Summit has released a short preview clip for said trailer, teasing the dramatic events that take place in the second half of Breaking Dawn.

2012 Razzie Nominations: Adam Sandler & ‘Transformers 3′ Lead the Pack

Just in time for the 84th Academy Awards ceremony, nominees have been announced for the 32nd Annual Razzie Awards. “Winners” of the awards (meant to (dis-) honor the “Worst Achievements in Film” during 2011) will be accordingly announced this year on (when else?) April Fools’ Day.

Leading the pack of 2012 Razzie contenders are some usual suspects, in the form of Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise (thanks to Transformers: Dark of the Moon) and Adam Sandler in a record-breaking nomination run, due to his involvement with such critically-ravaged titles as Just Go with It, Jack and Jill, and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.

Sandler has managed to smash Eddie Murphy’s record for most Razzie nods in a single year (the latter received 5 back in 2007) by stacking up a whopping 11 nominations in 2012. That’s due ...

Lionsgate Acquires Summit: ‘Twilight’ & ‘Hunger Games’ Now Under One Roof

Late in 2011 we brought you news that two of the smaller studios, Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment, were considering merging. As of today, that merger is officially a reality, with Lionsgate having acquired Summit for a combined sum of $412.5 million.

If you are not one of those TV/movie fans who keeps their eye on the business end of the biz: This basically means that young adult movie franchises The Twilight Saga (owned by Summit) and The Hunger Games (owned by Lionsgate) are now sharing the same roof over their heads, alongside Mad Men‘s Don Draper.

Tom Cruise is back at the top of the box office. The diminutive superstar’s latest Mission: Impossible grossed $26 million from Friday to Sunday, giving the fourth film in the long running spy franchise a $58 million total. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol has grossed over $100 million worldwide and when all is said and done, the film will out gross 2006’s Mission: Impossible III both here and abroad. Mission: Accomplished.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows was second banking an additional $17 million, upping the Robert Downey Jr. film’s total to over $76 million. The Sherlock sequel has now grossed over $100 million worldwide.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked brought in over $13 million. The family flick has now scored $50 million, a disappointing number considering the grosses for the previous ...

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (read our review) topped the box office over the weekend grossing $40 million. It’s not a bad number – but it was less than the $62 million that the first film grossed in 2009. It could be Robert Downey Jr fatigue, as the star has been in six films since he made his “comeback” with Iron Man in 2008, and all of these (excluding maybe The Soloist) were heavily marketed, with the star being front and center in every campaign.

It might also be that audiences still appear to be apathetic to most big releases over the last few months, finding others ways to spend their hard earned cash. Time will tell if Holmes reaches the first film’s $209 million gross ($524 million worldwide), if it ...

At Thanksgiving it looked like box office numbers were moving in an upward trajectory, but now that the dust has settled, it appears that the numbers are continuing to disappoint

Top of the heap this week is New Year’s Eve, director Gary Marshall’s followup to his 2009 hit, Valentine’s Day. However, New Year’s Eve only banked $13.7 million over the weekend, a far cry from the $56 million that its predecessor scored when it debuted. Valentine’s Day was a front-loaded release, smartly positioned to debut strong over the Valentine’s day weekend. It could be argued that V Day had a better line-up of stars, with the likes of Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Fox and Jennifer Garner. This week:

Twilight‘s Breaking Dawn tops the box office-again; The Muppets score the runner-up spot and Hugo fails to light up the chart on its second week of release.

No major releases were unleashed by studios over the weekend, meaning that movie-goers had to make do with Thanksgiving leftovers. This meant that Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1 ruled the roost for the third week in a row. The vampire romance banked $16.9 million over the weekend and upped its cume to a powerful $247.3 million. The Bill Condon directed film has now brought in over $500 globally – a great number, especially after only three weeks on release, and one that will continue to climb.

Thanksgiving weekend saw some strong numbers at the box office, but there were no major break-out hits. A crowded market place saw quite a few solid numbers, but the overall weekend was down compared to last year.

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1 was the undisputed king, taking in $42 million over the three days. The vampire film now has a total of $221 million, which is double the production budget. The Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart/Taylor Lautner love triangle has now scored about $400 million around the globe.

The Muppets (read our review) made their debut at #2 – taking $43.5 million worth of green (yeah, Kermit) since its Wendesday launch ($29.5 million over the three days). That just about covers the film’s production budget, but Disney did a heavy marketing push for ...

The penultimate installment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn-Part 1 topped the box office over the weekend grossing a massive $139 million. This fourth big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s novel series banked $72 million on Friday – the third highest opening day ever behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’s $91 million and The Twilight Saga: New Moon’s $72.7 million.

Longevity is the key here, and Breaking Dawn (read our review) will undoubtedly be front-loaded, taking a massive hit next weekend. The seemingly endless stream of promotional materials for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 continues on; today, we have even more footage to glimpse from the film, thanks to some new clips and TV spots.

However, perhaps the more interesting new Breaking Dawn – Part 1 tidbit is confirmation from franchise starlet Kristen Stewart that the film was originally branded with a R rating, thanks to the steamy and (literally) bed-wrecking sex scene between Bella Swan (Stewart) and her pale and powerful vampiric lover, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).

Twihards have their calendars marked and (probably) have already bought their tickets in advance for next month’s release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.

Recent still pics and TV spots released for the penultimate Twilight flick have nicely illustrated the luxurious nature of starry-eyed lovers Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen’s (Robert Pattinson) wedding. Today, we have a clip that offers further proof that nobody knows how to honeymoon in style like a century-old vampire permanently “trapped” in the form of a ~~gaunt~~ handsome 17-year-old male.

‘Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ Images: A Cullen Wedding Makes Jacob Angry

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 will be arriving this Holiday season, giving thankful fans a look at the beginning of the end of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling tale of teenage supernatural romance. We’ve previously gotten looks director Bill Condon’s (Dreamgirls) vision of the Twilight universe, with some particularly syrupy images depicting the wedding and honeymoon of star-crossed lovers Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).

Today, we have some new images that once again depict scenes from the pre-wedding and post-wedding scenes in the film, and one image of the wedding ceremony itself.
