Check your calendar, because Comic-Con 2011 will soon be upon us. With over 70 different TV panels confirmed for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, finding out when and where you’re favorite television series will be appearing is definitely easier said than done.

On top of that, some of Comic-Con’s fan-favorite TV series have been upgraded from the hallowed Ballroom 20, and will now be gracing the 5,000-seat Hall H. So, this year you won’t be able to simply sit in one room all day to catch many of the major television events has to offer at Comic-Con.

‘Being Human’ Series Premiere Review & Discussion

With much care and great consideration for the source material, Syfy has successfully re-imagined Toby Whithouse’s hit BBC series Being Human for the American television viewing audiences.

Set in the heart of Boston, Being Human follows three supernaturally disposed outcasts who, after failing to obtain any sense of normalcy on their own, come together in an attempt to support each other throughout their superordinary tribulations that result from attempting to survive daily life.

Aidan (Sam Witwer), the vampire; Josh (Sam Huntington), the werewolf and Sally (Meaghan Rath), the ghost all serve as the reluctant protagonists for this series. SyFy’s ‘Being Human’: The Right Way To Remake A British TV Show

This January, SyFy will be premiering their re-imagining of Toby Whithouse’s popular BBC series Being Human. In it, Sam Witwer (Smallville, Battlestar Galactica), Meaghan Rath (The Assistants) and Sam Huntington (Cavemen, Superman Returns) star as the loveable, but supernaturally unenthusiastic characters Aidan (vampire), Josh (werewolf) and Sally (ghost) with Mark Pellegrino (Lost, Supernatural) rounding out the cast as Aidan’s minacious mentor Bishop.

Like it’s UK counter-part, Being Human will follow these three paranormally conflicted roommates as they attempt to shield the world from their metaphysical secrets, all while trying to live double-lives and assimilate themselves into a world that they feel alienated from. Unfortunately, their quest at “being human” is more difficult than any of them could have imagined.

SyFy Digital Press Tour 2010: LIVE!

This Sunday and Monday, SyFy will be holding their annual Digital Press Tour in beautiful Orlando, Florida. During which, the network will discuss some of their new and returning series with the help of the show’s casts, hosts and executive producers. Fortunately, Screen Rant will not only be in attendance, but we’ll also be providing live coverage of the entire event.

Of the many series in SyFy’s television line-up, Caprica, Being Human, Desination Truth, Eureka, Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, Hollywood Treasure, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13 and WWE Friday Night Smackdown will be represented. Comic-Con 2010 Friday Schedule: Our TV Panel Picks

A new day means Comic-Con is that much closer and, as promised, Friday’s schedule has been released. Much like Thursday’s schedule, it doesn’t disappoint. With over 100 panels being announced, there’s no lack of entertainment. Obviously, you may not be interested in the “Dragons Are Better Than Unicorns” panel (perhaps the best made-up panel – ever!), but I guarantee that more than one will piqué your interest.

Included in Friday’s events are panels for True Blood, Big Bang Theory and Bones. These are going to be the most sought after panels of the day. Comic-Con: Torchwood & Being Human Panels

This Comic-Con panel was split into two segments with Being Human up first. Participants for Being Human panel included the Lenora Crichlow, Toby Whitehouse, Russell Tovey & Aidan Turner.

Being Human is about a vampire named Mitchell (Turner), a werewolf named George (Tovey), and a ghost named Annie (Crichlow). It’s about these three souls trying to understand themselves and fit into society in the process.

The first vision of Being Human was a sitcom but that later evolved into the supernatural show that it is today.

Russell Tovey was connected to the script by how it’s rooted in humanity.

Lenora Crichlon: her character is a very fresh take on a ghost. She’s trapped in the house she died in.

Russell Tovey started a wave in the auditorium, fulfilling a personal dream of his!
