Mickey Rourke gives us a candid take on his participation in films such as 'Iron Man 2,' and 'Sin City 2,' as well as an overview of what it is to fall and rise again in Hollywood.

Mickey Rourke is not an actor who is known for his circumspect actions or speech. He has been enjoying Hollywood’s warm embrace over the past several years, however. So it was somewhat surprising (and wholly refreshing) to hear Rourke speak with an intriguing combination of humility and candor about his recent and past experiences as an actor at this weekends press event for director Tarsem Singh’s latest visual extravaganza, Immortals. Rourke provided some insight into his reservations about his potential participation in Sin City 2, as well as his frustrations while working on Iron Man 2.

The dialogue opened with congratulations to Rourke on his upcoming inclusion in the Hollywood walk of fame. The actor gave an immediate sense of how the discussion would evolve when he said that it probably meant more to us ...

Click to continue reading Mickey Rourke Talks ‘Sin City 2′, ‘Iron Man 2′ & Hollywood

See thirteen men play a high-stakes game of Russian Roulette in the domestic trailer for '13'. Will this English-language remake be as effective as the 2005 original?

It’s not often that a foreign filmmaker ends up helming an English-language remake of their original work, but that’s the case with 13 – a reworking of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize-winning Noir tale 13 Tzameti from Georgian writer/director Géla Babluani.

An international teaser for 13 was released all the way back in November 2010 and it painted Babluani’s remake as being a chillingly bleak and nail-biting drama/thriller. Does the newly-released domestic trailer support that idea?

Unfortunately, the answer is “not really.” The domestic theatrical preview for 13 doesn’t build up suspense and tension like the previous trailer did; instead, it just sort of drops you into the film’s troubling and dark setting: a world where men participate in twisted games of Russian Roulette, in order to improve their financial status (assuming they ...

Click to continue reading ’13′ U.S. Trailer: Jason Statham Bets On Your Life

A trailer has been released for the Noir thriller '13', which stars Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, and 50 Cent as men involved in a deadly game.

Hedging bets on a horse race is one thing, but gambling on the outcome of a thirteen-man round of Russian Roulette is an entirely different matter, as is the case for the nail-biting thriller, 13.

A trailer has been released for 13, which stars Sam Riley, 50 Cent, Mickey Rourke, and Jason Statham as gentlemen who get involved in a viciously twisted underground world of gambling, where the stakes involve the lives of men, each of whom is identified solely by a single number.

French filmmaker Géla Babluan wrote and directed the thriller 13 Tzameti, which walked away with the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival back in 2006. Babluan co-wrote and directed the English-language remake of his debut film, now just titled 13, which revolves around a young man (Riley) who assumes ...

Click to continue reading ’13′ Trailer Is Ominous and Suspenseful

Yes, it’s that time of the week again.

This week:

Rob Reiner reads the Book of Shadows; 13 isn’t unlucky for Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham; we take a peek at Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino; will you see Saw V and Spider-Man makes sure that Sam Raimi doesn’t know Jack.

1. Rob Reiner will direct the action-adventure film Book of Shadows.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:

“The story follows a young man who must embark on the perilous journey of first love and face many trials of maturity while on the dangerous quest to close a mythical tome called “Book of Shadows” in order to restore balance to the world.”

Sounds like it could bring the director back to his Princess Bride heyday.

Source: The Hollywood Reporter

2. The poster for Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino is now online. When the film was first announced earlier in the year the internet went crazy over the idea that the film ...

Click to continue reading Mid-Week Movie News Wrap Up – Oct. 23, 2008
