The first part of Pokémon Sword and Shield's expansion pass has arrived, introducing players to the Isle of Armor area and a few new Pokémon found there. Players can now battle with two new Legendaries, one new Mythical, one new Galarian form, and six new Gigantamax forms, bringing a total of 10 new Pokémon designs to Sword and Shield's Pokédex.
Although these new creatures add more variety to Sword and Shield's gameplay, perhaps the biggest attraction for series fans is the Sword and Shield expansions' returning Pokémon. In total, the two DLCs will bring 200 old Pokémon back from past games, previously unobtainable in Sword and Shield, including Legendaries like Mewtwo and Yveltal and fan-favorites like Blastoise and Luxray. These will only be obtainable in-game via the expansions' new areas, but players can also transfer them over from past games without buying the DLC.
Some crossover between old and new comes in the form of the new Gigantamax versions of Blastoise and Venusaur, but other new, perhaps more exciting discoveries await trainers in the Isle of Armor DLC. Read on to learn about all the new Pokémon added in Pokémon Sword and Shield's first DLC.

Kubfu is the star of the expansion pass, playing a central role in the story and evolving into two different forms of Urshifu - the Fighting/Dark-type Single Strike Style and the Fighting/Water-type Rapid Strike Style - depending on which version of Sword and Shield Kubfu is caught and raised in. Each Style also has its own Gigantamax form, ensuring players of each game get a unique experience.
Like Kubfu and Urshifu, the other entirely original Pokémon, Zarude and Galarian Slowbro, have been known about in some capacity for a while. Game Freak revealed Zarude all the way back in February, and the monkey-like Mythical Pokémon was mocked by fans for its easily meme-able design. Galarian Slowbro was a more recent reveal, but players have been able to train its pre-evolution, Galarian Slowpoke, since the DLC was announced. The Isle of Armor's launch means players can finally evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Slowbro, but they'll have to wait for the Crown Tundra DLC to get the already teased Galarian Slowking.
