Screen Rant has three new videos for you today to help get you ready for one of this month’s big releases: The Surrogates. The  upcoming sci-fi action thriller stars none other than Bruce Willis along with Rosamund Pike, James Cromwell and Ving Rhames.

The film is based on the 2005-06 comic series of the same name where in the future, people live their lives through remote-controlled robots (the Surrogates). The story follows Agent Greer, played by Willis, who must leave his home to investigate the murders of other Surrogates.

Check out the latest after the jump…

The first official trailer for Surrogates, debuted back in May to mixed reaction. While the promotional material and viral marketing showed off some neat stuff, nothing has really grabbed my interest.

The film is directed by Jonathon Mostow of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines fame. I really disliked that film and unfortunately, a lot of what I see reminds of that – watch for yourself and see what you think of the latest three TV spots:

These spots don’t reveal too much knew but there are tidbits of scenes we’ve not yet encountered.

I like Bruce Willis but I’m still not overly impressed by what we’ve seen of this movie. Not good, considering they’re seemingly showing way too much in the trailers and commercials. That being said, some parts intrigue me and I’ll definitely check it out on opening weekend.

If this movie interests you, be sure to check out the Behind-the-scenes Surrogates featurette we posted on Screen Rant two weeks back.

What do you think of the TV spots? Will you be seeing this on the big screen?

Surrogates hits theaters September 25, 2009.

  1. I’m looking forward to this for the sci/fi stuff even if it is being done by the T3 guys. Is it the writers as well or just the director? The direction wasn’t horrible in T3 it was more of the script I think.

  2. I think it is also the same writers?? I think T3 was the fault of everyone involved, including Arnold, shame shame shame, lol. :-P

  3. Maybe it’s better off if I don’t know who the writers are? I hope the movie is watchable and if I know who is writing the script I may not end up seeing it. maybe we should keep it on the hush hush for the movies sake lol.

  4. Speaking of terminator – I just finished watching the beginning of T2 and it has the best future war scenes of any of the movies and it only lasts a minute and a half to two minutes. Plus, it came out 18 years ago lol. Sorry to go off-topic.

  5. Yeah MCat that’s for sure,,, Mcg had an entire film and he never came close to the first 2 minutes of T2. Well said,,, ;-)

I havnt seen these spots because I’m on a handheld but I gotta say the posters of the people with the T-800 diaphragm are lame and annoying!!! Lame!!!!!!

  6. Maybe we can somehow convince Cameron to return and finish the new trilogy. Whatever it takes – give him the money and let him show us the real future war.

  7. Yeah MCat I think Cameron blew it with Avatar. I would take a Cameron produced sequel to T3 over Avatar anyday !!!

  8. IMO ide take Avatar over any movie ever created or will ever be created

  9. Saw the trailer for Surrogates before Gamer (Butler was awesome, Hall creepy and the kid was really good!). It looks great also saw the trailer for Daybreakers-looks fantastic (running out of adjectives-where’s my thesaurus?)
