‘Supernatural’ Season 7 Premiere Photos Pits Castiel Against Death

What did you think of the premiere? ‘Supernatural’ Season 7 Premiere Review & Discussion

With the Supernatural season 7 premiere just over a week away, the familiar sounds of AC/DC’s anthem of “You Shook Me All Night Long” will soon be gracing our television screens accompanied by a flurry of scenes recapping what took place last season. Check out the photo gallery from the season premiere above.

Fortunately, fan anticipation can take a back seat for the time being, as The CW released 11 images from the highly-anticipated premiere – and, from the looks of it, it appears that while Castiel may have anointed himself as the new God, Sam and Dean are going to great lengths to make sure that Castiel’s promotion comes to an end.

With a bag full of fast food in hand, Death comes to visit the obviously worried Winchester brothers at the request of Dean. Unfortunately, Castiel seems to be one step ahead of everyone, and now Sam, Dean and Bobby not only have to deal with an angry Lord, but also an angry Death. That’s not exactly the position one would EVER want to be in.

You can read the description to the Supernatural season 7 premiere, entitled “Meet the New Boss” below:

Castiel doesn’t kill Sam, Dean and Bobby, but warns them not to interfere in his business. Assuming his new role as God, Castiel sets out to right some of the wrongs in the world. Dean decides they should find Death and order him to stop Castiel, but the former angel is one step ahead of them, leaving Dean to face a very angry Death. Meanwhile, Sam struggles to deal with the broken wall in his mind.

Now that Castiel has taken a proverbial turn for the worse and Sam has all of his memories flooding in from his time in Hell, the upcoming season of Supernatural already has a bevy of intriguing plots to focus on. With it being announced that Crowley is returning (along with several other familiar characters) and the knowledge that these story arcs cannot adequately fill a 22 episode season, one beings to wonder where the series will go from here.

Despite there being a few bumps in the road, Supernatural has largely been presented as a brilliant series that’s able to grow and evolve with each passing season. So, whatever may come after Castiel gets kicked from his throne, or when Sam finally deals with his hellish memories, one can at least breathe a sigh of relief in knowing that it will most certainly be handled with the same brilliance that most of the series has been.

  1. This is for blue hero and Anon i agree with 98% of everything you guys said and im happy to see that there are true fans who can see threw all the Bs that sera gamble is causing, she needs to step back and let kripke fix this huge mess that she caused, i believe that the damage she caused is too big to fix, i still love the show and will continue watching, i wish that the writers and sera could read this and maybe knock some sense into them, and they could try and fix things but we can only hope for one miracle at a time!

    • Thank you jesse. I appreciate your comment. I feel like I’m fighting off lots of people who refuse to see simple logic.

      • Hey this is also to bluehero, i sat here today lookin through your argument with obviously ignorant pep and also wantd you to kno i agree with you. Not ignorant because of stupidity but more so due to the “ignore” part of the word. lol The show may have started of slow but it was about two “monter Hunters” let me emphasize that statement “monster hunting” brother in search for their dad and the killer of their mother and sams” gf. FF now dad’s in hell , boys been through hell, the demon is dead.. bla bla woop woop skip. ( “im allowed to skip cause remember People can supposedly “fill in the dots”)Now where are we… hmmm i guess all the pagan goods stop existing… and monsters. Only demons and false gods run the show. It’s like they made the show more appeling to christian fans. If you dont believe that rewatch 3-6 seasons and watch how the out of the box creatures started to disappear. And monster hunts? What monsterhunts? Dean and sam are useless. Their like the guy at a poker table who bluffs all the enemies. to much whining and not enough gung ho dean and sam saviors of the people. it isn’t even the same show anymore. i dont have a problem with the new direction but it seem to head nowhere. I didnt hav a problem with angels till they took over the show. Still is a good show but it lacks… character… Who the heck is sam and dean Winchester the bacround characters?

        • I’m am bashing but i love the show. I like how they blended in multiple religions. I love mythology, i sit all day research different religions. I jus wish they would do more hunting. I wish sam and dean were still “capable’. Every time their done killing one monster its like the whole race is gone. They eradicated them all. Why no nymphs, ghosts, goblins, shades, multi deminsional beings, iono anything! Just make em susceptible to a blast of sulfur from a sawed off and bam! we got our old Sam, dean and boby back.(a generalization of what i really mean i just don’t wanna spend the next hour typing to explain everything i mean) You know what i’m saying. I like the episode to episode thing with a large overview. I don’t want it to be the same s*** every week. Cause this is just 1 big crescendo of anxiety up until another lack luster season finale.I liked when 1 episode could get you hooked, yet it wasn’t hard to find out the plot cause its so vast. Evey time they hunt it add to the plot cause that is the plot mostly. They still have plenty unfinished business to take care of but they keep piling up plots then ending them to bring em back later. were gonna expect them to be awesome and all of a sudden new direction, we’ll be back to free our father’s soul and jesse he’s in the Bahamas and we’ll just forget about their mysterious mother and her family. Our little brother? what lil brother, screw em he’s a trooper, we went to hell too it wasn’t all that bad.

          • and before someone corrects me i meant rock salt. :)
