I just don’t know what it is about Routh, but I don’t care for him as Superman. He makes a GREAT Clark Kent, but he doesn’t FEEL like Supes to me. Maybe I’m just waiting for Tom Welling to be the Man of Steel…..

I think Routh did a fine job. If they recast Superman it would be a massive mistake.
And yes Lex Luthors got to go!

I have to raise my hand and ask why are Orci and Kurtzman all of a sudden the best writing duo in town. I don’t care how much cash Trannyformerz made it was strictly a weak film with some great fx. Star Trek has enabled these writers the street cred that is getting them all this new work but that film hasn’t even come out yet.

I just see these guys based on Trans4mers as being the next Rolland Emmerich and Dean Devlin clones.
Time will tell yet if Star Trek fails they and Abrams will get the full blame.

IMHO, Routh is the best Supes since Reese, and that HUGE shoes to fill. Tom Welling is ok, but not ready for the big screen. Have you seen Welling in “The Fog”?

Welling’s a fine actor, but he’s not Superman nor has he ever played him (i.e. never put on the red & blue suit!) Not to mention, he’s never expressed the slightest amount of interest in ever doing so (i.e. he was a no-show during the LOOK UP IN THE SKY! documentary!)

If WB was trully serious about getting him to play Supes, they would have already done so years ago. Personally, I think Welling will have a good TV career post-SMALLVILE. I actually see him headlining a hit-series on one of the “big 4″ networks.

Routh is Superman. Period.

I just watched it again. I think it awesome. I don’t what people are complaining about. I like the slow parts but then, I’m 36. ;-)

Greg, to each his own. I’m 46 and when I tried to re-watch it on DVD I got so bored I turned it off.
