Superman Returns Clip: Yeah, Baby…

Jun 23, 2006 by

Ok, I’m sorry but I’m really starting to geek out over Superman Returns. With the positive reviews, and the movie seeming better with every trailer and clip that comes out I’m unabashadly looking forward to this now. Of course if it does turn out to be awesome, I’ll have to stand corrected with all the doubt-ridden posts I’ve written on this site over the course of production. ;-)

Check out this clip:

With the exception of the fact that when he stops to hover after flying fast enough to break the sound barrier and his hair is perfect, this clip is fantastic. :-)

I love the smoothness of his takeoff in the elevator, the feeling of incredible speed when he flies by and that little rescue at the end.

Great stuff.

  1. Here’s my question:

Why is the top of the elevator open?

  2. Drama, dude… drama. :P

Actually I’ll take little things like that and the perfect here any day over the stuff they did in “Superman II”, which I just re-watched last night (shudder).

  3. I love it. I get the feeling that was two different clips from the movie though. Reviews or no reviews, I plan to see this anyway. I’ve seen a spoiler or two and it’s nothing I didn’t figure out.

While we’re nitpicking…, I guess OSHA will have a word will the crane operator’s foreman about harness safety when you’re 50-something floors up. :D

  4. Yeah, if the man can fly, deflect bullets of his chest, and bend steel with his bare hands I’m sure he has the power to fly through the top of an elevator if he wants.

Pacing is just as, if not more, important than Truth and Justice.

  5. Oh, that last post was me again.

  6. Hey Vic thanks for sharing, I have to rewatch this trailer like 5 times, I am gushing like a schoolgirl!

  7. my gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
