It’s been a crazy week for high-profile DC properties – well, not including Green Lantern 2 – as Warner Bros. released sneak peek images of both Henry Cavill as the new Man of Steel as well as Catwoman, Anne Hathaway.

In both cases, the releases could be seen as pre-emptive, considering the Catwoman image was officially unveiled hours before set-pics of a Dark Knight Rises stunt-double in full Catwoman garb appeared online – with other public shoots (including an appearance by Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers) scheduled throughout the week. As for the Man of Steel image, director Zack Snyder is also expected to make a few public appearances – with a high-profile shoot today in West Chicago. As a result, expect plenty of on-the-scene fan shots to be unveiled in the coming days.

As we’ve previously warned, on-set shooting details can provide MILD to MEDIUM SPOILERS for both The Dark Knight Rises and Superman Man of Steel. If you are attempting to avoid spoilers altogether, please be advised to turn away now – you have been WARNED.

Still here? Here we go…

The Dark Knight Rises

Images of a the full souped-up Bane or a masked Catwoman are still in short supply but one body-double may have put to rest any question as to whether or not Anne Hathaway will be playing Catwoman.

Check out the image below (courtesy of EyePrime via CMB) with an understated Catwoman mask in-hand. The mask looks pretty fitted, looking closely you can see its three-dimensional shape around the right side of the paper – and will probably be pretty subtle (though, it’s certainly possible Catwoman will have a more-complicated disguise by the end of the film):

While it might be obvious to some readers that Hathaway would be taking-on the iconic cat burglar, some Bat-fans, following the shot of Hathaway on the Batpod, have been speculating that director Christopher Nolan was throwing audiences a curve-ball – and that Hathaway would be, instead, portraying Batwoman. Given the kitty-cat mask in the stunt-double’s hand, it’s pretty safe to say that, even though we’ve yet to see a masked Hathaway – Selina Kyle will appear in full Dark Knight Rises Catwoman garb.

As for what’s next for the caped-crusader – and his film crew. Pittsburgh Steeler, Ben Roethlisberger, recently let the Cat(woman) out of the bag – announcing that he (as well as the rest of the team) will be involved in a shoot today at Heinz Field:

“I heard it’s going to be a neat thing at the stadium. I don’t think it will be a big part, it’s not like we’re chasing Batman down or anything. It’s something neat that in 10 years or 20 years we can tell our kids we were in a movie. Thomas does movies big and I’m sure it will be a big-time movie and something fun to be part of. From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be like a pre-game, warming-up type thing. I don’t know the whole concept. There’s a Gotham team, a football game. We’ll be wearing uniforms. It will be fun.”

No doubt it’ll be interesting to see the team decked-out in Gotham Rogues gear – though, it’s hard to imagine that this particular shot will feature any in-costumed hero or villain action. It’s much more likely to be the backdrop for a character-scene involving Bruce Wayne.

Superman Man of Steel

Given that Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot was bumped to 2013, there’ll be plenty of time for leaked shots of Henry Cavill as well as Michael Shannon (playing Zod) on-set to appear online. However, no doubt some fans have already hopped on a plane (or is it a bird?) en route to Plano, a West Chicago town where Snyder will be filming throughout August.

The director is expected to get started today and rumors suggest that a tornado will rip through downtown Plano – but details on what will be shot are being kept under lock and key.

According to Deputy Clerk Kathy Miller:

“Its mostly just businesses, there’s a machine shop, a pizza place, an attorney’s office. It’s the downtown area, there’s no residential in that stretch.”

The same stretch of land will be closed later in the month (August 15th from noon to 8 p.m. and from August 22nd through August 28th from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m).

The street closures were first reported on Triblocal but the “tornado” information has yet to be officially corroborated. The rumor first cropped-up two weeks ago when ComicBookMovie reported that casting directors were hiring extras for a tornado scene. Time will tell whether or not the Man of Steel has to deal with a force of nature or something otherworldly (like an out of control Kryptonian). Given the amount of secrecy around the production, code-named “Autumn Frost,” it’s certainly possible that the casting directors used “tornado” as a way of describing the tone of the set-piece – and the actual scene could be revealed, on set, to be a meteor crash or larger battle.

Again, if everything goes according to plan today in Plano – we may soon have a better idea of what went down – as well as how the scene fits into the Man of Steel plot. We’ll keep you posted as we hear (and see) more.

  1. The goggles look like the Catwoman version from Arkham City. All they have to do is throw a cowl on and it will look more in line with comic versions I guess. Maybe the character just hasn’t gotten to that point yet, you have to remember that Wayne had to have his stuff made after he figured out what he wanted. Maybe this Catwoman has yet to make or steal that part of her outfit yet.

  2. I always wanted a stunt double, it takes away the hassle out of life

  3. I don’t like the Superman image much at all because it is CGI. Why couldn’t it just be Henry at the Planet in the suit? It’s easy, recognizable, iconic, and could be done with little to no CGI.

    • Maybe because that would be exactly the same as the Superman Returns first pics of the suit. I agree, it is a shame that it is such an obviously CGI picture though.

  4. Guess who´s going to get banned? Go and spam another website.

    • I don’t think it’s spam per se Scapegoat. Ahinabc sent secret stuff to Amen the one who replied after Al NightWalker’s post. Things go on all over the net that most just ignore. LOL, Arab secrets pass through ScreenRant film at 11:00…

      • Whatever it is, I don´t think Vic would approve “secret” messages on here.

        • Well, that’s one thing we agree on. I don’t think you’ll ever see a message from them again anyway…

  5. THAT’S the Mask?? Seriously??!!?? I know the Economy has gone bad, But THAT is down right Sad. C’mon guys, You can do Better than that.

  6. Official backstory for uhm… Catwoman. No joke:

“Catwoman is apparently one of the most well written characters we’ve seen in these movies so far and she could potentially steal the show the way Heath Ledger did last time.”

    Yeah, right.

“She does some cool stuff in the movie like jumping out of windows and stealing the Batpod.”

She jumps out of a window?! Boah, how cool is that? And she steals the Batpod?! That´s beyond awesome!

“Her back story is that she has a history of abuse and works as a stripper and is also a pickpocket.”

Who would have guessed? There goes your source material…

    • I thought that was her story in comics too, though some what different…

As long as it’s handled well I guess I wont complain.

  7. Both costumes so far are VERY disappointing to me.
Superman’s is far too dark and gloomy. He’s supposed to be the beacon of the DC universe.
Catwoman’s, looks like nothing more than just spandex and leather. Where’s the whole feline theme?

    • Catwoman looks like spandex and leather? Uhm… When has she not???

    • The thing that hits me about Superman’s new suit is that it would appear to be very bulky under his Clark Kent clothes. The idea of his suit was suppose to be very conceiled under civilian clothes. This makes ask isn’t he going to sweat in his new outfit?

      • Superman doesn’t sweat.

  8. I get people have different points of view for this film but others are straight up hating.

  9. Does every Superhero now HAVE to wear rubber?
    Batman I can understand…but geez…Supes doesn’t need armor.
Can you not find an actor that can fill out spandex?

  10. damn they still make superman wear a thong g string or whatever it is now when are they going to come up with a new costume this is going to be another disaster hopefully the story line will be way better than the other one

  11. just put her in the arkham city costume to make my nether-regions happy….

  12. Original? You may make a claim for Pfeiffer as the best to wear the cat suit, but how can she be the original? I’m not claiming that Eartha Kitt or Julie Newmar were the best, but they did come first.

  13. What do you mean, DKR is an original movie too.

  14. That Superman costume is too dark and scaly looking.

Spuerman’s suit needs to be Superman blue, no room for artistic interpretation.

    • “Superman blue”, what is that? There’s been plenty of costume redesigns in Superman’s history, just like Batman. I actually like the new costume a lot better than the old ones, the old ones look cheap in comparison.

      • not navy blue with scales. looks like aquaman raped him and then stole thor’s cape. garbage.

  15. The Superman Casting is going to look great

  16. Is it me or is the stunt girl like really really hot? Maybe hotter than Anne Hathaway?

    • My thoughts EXACTLY.. at least from ONE picture she looks WAAAY hotter than Hathaway.

  17. i had a feeling that what we seen of cat woman is not her officail outfit. I mean bruce never got his suit off the back so wouldn’t it make sense if its the same with cat woman?

  18. I don’t know about Catwoman but That girl with her mask is really HOT!!!

    • That is a confirmed fake my good friend.

  19. Superman looks horrible! The suit is ugly – what’s with the scales? The actor looks pathetic in that a body suit. That was the problem with Brandon Roth. The body suit looks fake. Christopher Reeve worked out and looked great in the suit. Why they didn’t just go with Tom Welling is beyond me. At least Tom looks great! I hope there’s some bootleg copies floating around that I can borrow because I’m for sure not going to waste my money going to see this.

    • @Karon

LMAO. Specifically, Im laughing at your suggestion of Tom Welling as Superman and off-handed remark comparing him to Christopher Reeves. All things considered, I believe an additional LMAO is warranted. ahahaha

  20. The superman suit is desaturated due to the setting. I like the scaled look here. I will agree that if the suit is muted in plain light that is will not be popular with fans.

I do not care for Ann Hathaway as catwoman…there are far more qualified actresses to play this character. The mask in question in these photos is not likely the costume for the film. It may very well be for the stand in or perhaps the predacessor to here actual costume. I have a suspicion that these images are strickly to cause buzz on the internet…:)

    • I used to love Burton’s Batman’s when I was a kid, but now I find them painful to watch. I think it’s probably in light of the new batman films, the old ones just don’t do it for me anymore. I find it difficult to apply batman’s journey with regards to his training and life lessons to Burton’s stuff. The only scene I prefer in “Batman” to “Batman Begins” I where his parents get shot.

You talk about fantasy vs realism and how you prefer fantasy, but then you talk about Superman’s muscles, saying they are too big since in reality, he wouldn’t need them (which I agree with by the way). So, you kind of have two conflicting opinions inhabiting your brain at the same time.

Crucially, I want fantasy to convince me it’s believable

      • @ Pete

Im one the ones who still enjoy Burton’s films & the old Superman films cause i loved them when i first watched them as kid & they never bore me till this day really. But the fact is they were made over 20 years ago so sure some fans might lose interest & today’s general audiences may not care to watch them cause they now have new films like Nolan’s films. In 20 or so years, Nolan’s Batman films will probly lose their popularity as new Batman films get made. Most likely that’s Hollywood’s idea of rebooting every franchise of film so the next generation of fans have somthing to enjoy.

        • er.. is the word you are looking for ‘S-I-M-P-L-E’ ?

  21. can`t see that loser as superman but know we gotta find someone

  22. Since she’s a master thief n all that, I’m betting she’s stolen them goggles and the bike from Wayne’s volt, probably under the persuasion of Bane/Talia. That’s also why Bane has the Tumblers etc. The League of shadow’s will have paid her to break in and enable them access to all the toys, humiliating batman whilst also enforcing themselves.
Although, inevitably her character will come through as good when she realises how incredible batman is…

  23. you know ill probably watch the movie only because i like superman not because of the dumb uniform or whos playin the charectors. just saying your not supposed to make the uniform dark so you can see more of a heroes darkside because last time i checked heros are light and villains are dark

  24. Hello!
I especially love your new blogs on
