superman batman public enemies metallo Superman/Batman Public Enemies: Superman vs. Metallo Clips

Got two new clips for you today from DC Universe’s upcoming animated feature Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, which is based on the truly awesome graphic novel by Jeph Loeb (Batman: The Long Halloween, Heroes) and Ed McGuinness (Superman). The two clips display an early part of the film in which Superman meets with President Lex Luthor(!), only to be ambushed by the Kryptonite-powered cyborg, Metallo.

If you’re as excited about Superman/Batman: Public Enemies as I am, then you definitely need to check these clips. If you’re not, you need to definitely check out these clips; they’ll get you onboard the trolley.

The clips come our way courtesy of MTV – I snagged a YouTube version of the first clip for our International viewers; the second clip is exclusive to MTV (for now), and may not be viewable outside of the U.S. Check them out:

Man, am I loving how this movie is looking. It’s everything I could want: Batman, Superman (in that order), a bunch of super heroes and villains and a whole lot of brawling. The graphic novel still stands as my current favorite Supes/Bats story and that is REALLY saying something.

Fan favorites Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown will all reprise their previous roles as the voices of Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor respectively. DC animation guru Bruce Timm will be involved and helming the film is Sam Liu, who recently directed the Marvel animated feature Hulk vs. Thor. Public Enemies will boast a PG-13 rating, so older folks, don’t miss out.

You know what, I’m feeling so good about seeing one of my favorite superhero stories getting a feature (animated) film that I’m going to go ahead and post a BONUS CLIP, featuring Supes and Bats taking on Captain Atom and Major Force. Enjoy!

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies hits DVD/Blu-ray on September 29, 2009.  For some action-packed “Supes/Bats” pics, go here.

  1. LOOKS AMAZING!!! CANT WAIT!!! looking forward to the green lantern one more though!!!

oh and the second clip let me watch the friggin ADVERT no problems but then said i cant veiw the superman/bats footage outside the U.S. … Typical

  2. Too bad they won’t be making these stories into movies. I heard there won’t be any more Superman movies for the time being????

  3. I pre-ordered this movie in August! :) cant wait to get!

  4. Sweet…. this is one of 5 things I’m looking forward to this year. Awesome clips all the way!

  5. Looks like another hit from WB/DC animation..these films are really good..I have them all except for WOnder Woman..

  6. The story looks great the voice acting is great, but I’m not sold on the animation style I’m just not enjoying the way the characters are looking. Far to bulky and it just looks weird. Plus Batman almost looks more like a cat with that cowl.

  7. My impression of Lex Luthor’s voice changed entirely when I learned Clancy Brown not only voiced him, but also Mr. Krabs in Spongebob Squarepants.

Picture THAT next time Lex Luthor tries to sound menacing.

He also played the sadistic bald prison guard in “The Shawshank Redemption”.

  8. Is it just me or does the art style look like a cheap video game? I’ll watch and probably like it, but these first glimpses look really bad (style that is). I’m a huge fan of the Justice League Unlimited, why change?

What’s with Metallo? He’s T-800 looking T-1000 with Kryptonite!? “poly-metal-liquid-alloy” he cried, said it really monotone-like too.

  9. is it me or did i hear the transformers transforming sound when metallo’s hands transformed…? too many transformations in that sentence and this comment…lol

  10. Holy crap! Another good animated movie? I had almost given up hope.

  11. Looks pretty good. I hope they keep the banter vivid as it was in the series.

The graveyard scene where Supes ends up probably(hopefully) leads to the sewers and Alfred… :D

This will be bought as my Tattoo was taken from it.
