[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Supergirl ahead.]

-

The trailer for the next episode of Supergirl has arrived. It has been one crazy season for Kara Danvers and her friends. New loves, new enemies, new friends, and new jobs have caused quite a bit of chaos in all of their lives. Now with only two episodes left in the season, all of that is going to come together for the season two finale.

And one heck of a finale has been set up. At the end of the previous episode, 'City of Lost Children', Rhea had successfully executed her plan. She used the invention that she had tricked Lena Luthor into creating with her in order to bring hundreds of Daxamite ships to Earth. As they arrived, Rhea triumphantly declared that Earth was now the new Daxam. Apparently, her plan was not so much to take revenge on Earth for her son choosing to stay, but to take over the Earth and bring Daxam to Mon-El, instead.

The CW has released the trailer for 'Resist', the second to last episode of the season. It looks like Supergirl will need all the help she can get to take back the planet. Luckily, a few familiar faces show up to help save the day, including her old boss Cat Grant.

Cat Grant Returning for Supergirl Season 2 Finale

The trailer opens with another familiar face from the past. Lillian Luthor - the leader of Cadmus, who seemed to be the season's big bad for most of the year, before Rhea showed up. Of course, no one is about the trust her at first, but throughout the trailer it seems as though she and her followers - including Cyborg Superman, who is seen for a brief moment - are teaming up with Supergirl and her friends. After all, this sort of alien invasion is the exact sort of thing Lillian and the rest of Cadmus have been afraid of. Another moment in the trailer shows Lena in a bright red dress, apparently as a part of some Daxamite ritual or event. Lillian Luthor is not the best mother on the planet, but she might care about her daughter just enough to want to save her from Rhea.

Even as Lillian is shown, Cat Grant is announcing her return on her media channel. Cat's used CatCo's resources to help Supergirl fight evil and give the city hope in the past, it seems like she is up to those old tricks again. When Supergirl tries to warn Cat that things could be dangerous, Cat corrects her. "No no, this will be dangerous." Making it clear that just like in the past, Cat will step up and do the right thing, no matter what.

Most of the trailer is dedicated to the fighting that is about to occur, as the DEO leads a handful of humans and a few aliens in a resistance against Rhea's army. Near the end, Supergirl confronts Rhea once more, and the Daxamite Queen is confident in the face of the woman she believes took her son away.
