The CW releases new Supergirl images and a poster for upcoming episode ‘Resist’. Supergirl is only two episodes away from the end of its second season, and yet again, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) is dealing with a full-scale invasion. At the end of this week’s ‘City of Lost Children‘, Rhea (Teri Hatcher) had managed to bring an entire fleet of Daxamites to Earth, declaring it ‘New Daxam’. Now, Supergirl and her team have two episodes to save the entire planet from Rhea’s new world order.

The trailer for ‘Resist’, next week’s episode, has already given fans their first look at New Daxam, with Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) in Rhea’s inner circle (willingly or not), and some unexpected allies coming to the DEO’s aid. Now, a series of new images and a poster for the episode have been released, showing off a little more of what ‘Resist’ has to offer.

The series of 21 images were released by The CW, and come at the same time as a new poster was revealed in a tweet from episode writer Derek Simon. Check out the images and poster in the gallery below:

The images show several different scenes throughout the episode. There are shots of Kara with Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), and with her sister at the DEO. Several images also show Lillian Luthor (Brenda Strong) with members of Team Supergirl, which suggests that Lillian and the CADMUS team are going to be joining forces with the DEO to stop Rhea. Cyborg Superman (David Harewood) also pops up in an image, bringing all the season 2 favorites into play. Several other images show Rhea, Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) decked out in Daxamite finery – as part of the court of the New Daxam, presumably.

One of the most interesting things about this season finale (as shown by the trailer and these new images) is how the teams have come together for the final battle. Lena and Mon-El are with Rhea, albeit not entirely willingly, while Lillian and CADMUS are joining forces with Supergirl. This is bound to cause some problems for Kara, as she’ll be fighting a woman who has a close relationship with both her best friend and her boyfriend. The image of Lena and Lillian together is also going to make for an interesting scene, as Lena’s two mother figures go head to head.
