One of the more unique films this summer is that of J.J. Abrams' next mystery project, Super 8. Like Cloverfield, this is another monster flick with an ambiguous title where the creature is not being revealed before the film debuts.

From the teaser to the talent involved, Super 8 easily found its way into our most anticipated films of 2011 list. If you're as excited about the movie as we are, then you need to check out these two new photos and its very innovative interactive trailer.

You might have seen the Fast Five interactive trailer earlier in the week, but that's nowhere near as truly interactive as the Super 8 marketing ploy which attached a playable trailer to copies of the highly touted release of Portal 2 this week. It's the only video game of the year to earn a 5/5 review on Game Rant and the built-in Super 8 trailer was a nice bonus on top of that.

The "trailer" lets players play through the events of the first Super 8 teaser trailer from the perspective of someone on the train that's about to crash and leads up to the film's most memorable moment thus far, of the crashed train car opening from the inside as the monster attempts to break out.

Watch and see as someone plays through the trailer and take note of the little hints revealed within:

For the actual movie and characters in it, Paramount released two new stills from the film.

If you're still unsure on what Super 8 is all about, we won't go into spoilers but here's the official Super 8 synopsis:

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth -- something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

Super 8 hit theaters June 10, 2011.
