  1. Special edition for The Amazing Spider-Man 2!!!!!!!

  2. Channing Tatum would be great as Captain Marvel/Shazam and The Rock can be Black Adam with Mark Strong as Doctor Sivanna and Benedict Cumberbatch voicing Mr. Mind.

  3. If nothing else, character vs character debates needs to be a regular thing on the podcast.

  4. please do a special for the amazing spiderman the specials are my favorite podcasts

    • Seconded. Plus Marvel Studios shouldn’t be exclusive to special editions. I think you guys did a special for the first Amazing Spider-Man as well.

      • Agreed that TASM 2 should get a special edition, but Dark Knight Rises had a special edition as did Man of Steel and the first TASM. ANd that Marvel gets Special editions ain’t true, Thor The Dark World didn’t get one.

  5. Spiderman 2
    The other women
    Cap 2
    Heaven is for real
    Rio 2

  6. I think that there should be a Plastic Man movie with or without a proper fan base. Realistically he is a pretty decent character all round. He starts off as a villain, a tragic accident happens, he tries to commit suicide and then decides to become a hero to protects others from the same pain he had. It is quite different from any Batman or preexisting super hero origin (in a current movie universe I mean.)

I know I will probably be called crazy but Hollywood could use some ideas that haven’t been rebooted or shown with a different face. I am not saying that they should make this their main goal but I think that once DC has made enough money to feel comfortable they should take a HUGE risk and see what happens. I think they’d be surprised.

Plastic Man is a joke, and it would be awesome to see people’s faces when they saw a trailer for a Plastic Man movie.

    • I remember years ago there was a Plastic Man movie in very early stages of development with Keanu Reeves attached. Maybe after Jupiter Ascending WB will get the Watchowskis to direct a Plastic Man movie and reunite with Keanu Reeves lol.

  7. I would love a special edition podcast for TASM2! It gets my vote for sure.

    • I actually did watch Six Feet Under!

  8. There was far too much Iron Man 2 bashing in this episode…

Also, why would anyone other than Henry Cavill play Bizarro? Michael Keaton played like 4 versions of himself on screen AGES ago, there were like 6 Harry Potters on screen in the Deathly Hallows part 1, with a bit of make up and computer wizardy Henry Cavill can beat himself up.

    • No doubt, I think we were just saying that getting a completely different actor might be a fun way to make Bizarro even weirder. Certain versions of the character in the comics are more than just a twisted/backwards Superman.

With so many other villains out there, it’s kind of hard for me to imagine they’ll do Bizarro at all frankly – especially the Cavill plays both roles version. A fight with Bizarro would be a lot like the fights with Zod and the Kryptonians, I imagine they’ll want to try some other things first.

  9. Jon Hamm as Doctor Strange, just throwing it out there.

    • Craig Fergusion. That’s why he’s leaving the Late Show. 😉

  10. Would it kill Anthony to not be so negative about everything Marvel AND DC all the time? Kinda sucks that I can’t listen to this around people because Anthony can’t express a view without dropping f*** or s*** all the time. But really the only complaint is the overall negativity towards everything comic book movie from him. But hey, keep on hoping for that Ghostbusters crap 10s of 100s of people want.

    • Ant is awesome, his jokes always crack me up, and Kofi (awesome as well) drops some f-bombs here and there.

    • I think it’s best for everyone if Ant (and all of us hosts) keep being who we are and keep being honest.

      • Lol, my apologies Ant. Wasn’t in the best of moods earlier and got a lil carried away. Hell, I’d watch Ghostbusters and Jurassic Park and Dino Riders Jurassic Park lol. I’ve had to watch 13 Going On 30 and Gigli, I can sit through anything lol.

        • I already failed, haha.

          Still trying!

  11. Man of steel was easily the worst superhero film in a generation. In fact, i agree with most people that is is probably the worst film in a generation.
The rumors of the sequel(s) are frigging hilarious as it is clear zack snyder has no clue what he is doing!
Marvel must be laughing all the way to the bank.
I can’t wait to see how truely dreadful these terrible sequels to a terrible movie will be!

    • @ Marvel till I die

Yeah, because MARVEL never had a bad movie: Dare Devil, Nick Fury with David Hasselhoff, Howard the duck, Fantastic 4 (1994), Elektra and the Captain America from 1990. Dude, MARVEL has had it’s share of bad apples. I am not saying that DC hasn’t mad bad movies too but before you bash a particular fan base you should also look at your own.

Look I agree that Man Of Steel wasn’t a “good” movie but it was far from the worst Super Hero film of our generation. At least your honest about being one sided, it is even in you screen name.

      • Those weren’t done by marvel studios. Those movies were done by fox & other studios.

        • @ Superherofan

Along with the cooperation of MARVEL. If you really want to get technical, the recent Avengers movies were done by Disney along with the help of MARVEL. Basically MARVEL studios had to work along side other studios because they sold the rights to other companies.

Besides I never said that the MARVEL company had to be at fault, I meant that not every MARVEL movie was “good.”

      • It’s like film reviewer Mark Kermode says, “If you tell me something is the worst movie of all time, I could show you my B-movie collection that features some of the worst things ever put to film, most of which you’ll have never even heard of”.

  12. Happy B’day Boss!

    • Thanks!

  13. Oh man, I hope the people responsible for Jurassic World will never use any of the ideas that Rob has for the franchise. That’s Robocop 3 level silliness. 😀 They have to keep it grounded and they shouldn’t fall into the crazy self-parody trap that so many franchises fall victim to. No lasers, no trained dinosaurs, no over the top post-apocalyptic BS. Hell, no!

I’m afraid I have no faith whatsoever in Orci’s directorial abilities. As a result I’m very sceptical about the next Star Trek. Abrams will be hard to replace.

Meg Ryan’s problem isn’t that she’s older now. Her problem is that she let her face get butchered to the point that she looks like one of the Joker’s Smilex victims. She doesn’t look old, she looks disfigured.

I love Independence Day. I saw it twice in the theater and own it on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray. On top of that I own the score and a Making Of book. The President’s speech is great!

My favorite line: “Don’t cross the streams!” from Ghostbusters. I use it all the time.

    • When Age of Extinction makes a billion+, the industry will have fighting dinos top of mind.

      • That’s what I’m afraid of.

        • You should be afraid. Dinos with lasers…

  14. I am very against Cyborg being an original JL member, unless at some point he and tim Drake break away from them to form their own group The Titans.

    • I kinda feel the same way, it seems like they’re focusing on the New 52 JL version

      • Why not just John Stewart GL, people like him more than Hal anyway, seems like New 52 isnt trying to do the best things, just different.

  15. As great as the first Jurassic Park is (and it still is one of my favorite films), when I finally got around to reading the books (both JP and The Lost World) I was blown away by how much better the books were, and the amount of material in each that wasn’t used. There is a lot that they could draw from that would be completely new to film viewers, but could pay homage to the story Michael Crichton wrote.

Regarding a special edition for the Amazing Spiderman 2, I’m all for it being a longer than normal discussion, but I still want to hear you guys do a news section, especially with official Star Wars casting, and Justice League.

    • Ya… the Justice League and Star Wars news bombs means we’ll be doing a news segment, then focusing on all things Spidey for the rest of the ep.

  16. Throwing this out there even though this site is more comic book universe oriented rather than sci-fi:

Top 5 potential directors for Star Trek 3.

    Few of mine would be:

JMS – he has enough experience, I think, to move into big screen debut but also needs another person to help with the blockbuster level things.

Alfonso Cuaron – sure Gravity for the spectacular visuals and the way it lingered on them to give that sense of awe, but mostly for Children of Men for the themes and sociopolitical commentary which is very characteristic of Star Trek.

Some of the TNG actors/directors would be good choices like Frakkes and Burton along with someone to assist in doing blockbuster level pics.

    • I would be incredibly excited for Alfonso Cuaron, though I imagine that guy has the pick of the litter when it comes to his next project.

  17. Great Podcast Guys! Cyborg sucks, we need ‘Black Iron Man!’ Kofi, you make me laugh and cry with your comments. Always a great show, and Henry Cavill is the “Weekly DC Knowledge.” Spike age 52 as ‘Brainiac’, made me roll on the ground!!

    • Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it.

  18. Of course Id beat the Punisher, Ive trained specifically in anti-gun tactics, the only thing hes got.

    • We’ll make sure to pass the word on to Superman.

    • Sorry about dying!

  19. How far are you in Young Justice Kofi?

  20. BoB:
    1. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    2. The Other Woman
    3. Captain America 2
    4. Rio 2
    5. Heaven is for Real
    10. Bears

  21. I envision a younger version of John Noble’s character on Fringe as Doctor Strange. This is a guy who is half mad from all the insane things he’s seen that mortals were never meant to see. Bouts of hysteria mixed with bouts of depression would highlight his character. He would also be defined as charismatic with a presence of fierce intelligence, empathy, and insight into the souls of other people. Keanu Reeves definitely doesn’t have the depth of acting required for this type of role but Johnny Depp potentially does.

  22. Rob – I saw a Buick Encore car commercial with dinosaurs. I thought of you. Now, I definitely want a dinosaur apocalypse movie…with lasers on their heads!

  23. Kofi has hit a new level of absurdity…he now claims to know more about a movie and it’s meaning than the director of the movie himself. THEN mocks the director for being pretentious. THEN justifies his position because he taught a class on the movie and has watched it hundreds of times. Now THAT’S funny. And I’m sure Christopher Nolan appreciates being set straight on what Memento is REALLY about. Hysterical!

  24. Dwayne Johnson: Jon Stewart!

  25. Are we getting an early podcast like for “The Winter Soldier”? Or are you guys just Disney biased (staring at ya’ Kofi!!!)
