Prepare yourselves for absolute chaos and pandemonium this summer as David Ayer’s supervillain team-up movie Suicide Squad is set to burst onto the big screen. Your ticket will include a hell ride into the newly established DC Extended Universe, whereby government agent Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) has formed a black ops team – better known as Task Force X – that boasts a cast of characters, who have been dubbed the “Worst. Heroes. Ever.”

The most dangerous criminals are poised, armed and ready to embark on a whole host of high-stakes, high-risk missions. The motley crew includes Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Slipknot (Adam Beach), and Katana (Karen Fukuhara). In addition to military man Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), who will be responsible for leading the squad of miscreants, somewhere on the perimeters (though not on the team) will be the iconic supervillain The Joker (Jared Leto).

To further amp up the ensemble’s edginess, Warner Bros. (via Suicide Squad’s official Twitter account) has released a series of posters revealing tattoo-inspired logos for some of the characters that have recently visited Harley’s Tattoo Parlour. Check out Killer Croc, Katana, Slipknot, Boomerang, Rick Flag and Enchantress’ inkwork below, worked by a “sweet” version of the Suicide Squad teaser poster:

The marketing campaign promotes several squad members by showcasing symbols of their personalities, helping to further strengthen their individual identities while giving DC fans the opportunity to share their allegiance to their pre-empted favourite characters. Additionally, the graphics have been supplemented by a cryptic caption that reads: “The #SuicideSquad is ready to leave its mark on #SXSW. #HarleysTattooParlor.”

SXSW refers to the annual South by Southwest festival, which will be hosted in Austin, Texas from March 11 – March 20, 2016. With the event right around the corner, the Suicide Squad Twitter teasers will inevitably stir up speculation as to whether the movie could be debuting alongside the formerly announced featured line-up, which includes Keanu, the Preacher TV show pilot, Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday and Sausage Party, this year.

However, while we are sure that fans – especially attendees of SXSW – would be enthusiastic over the prospect of the studio pulling the trigger on the impending mayhem prematurely, it seems much more likely that the message denotes some kind of exhibit or installation at the SXSW Film Circuit, perhaps even a Harley Quinn-themed tattoo booth? This notion is further strengthened by Enchantress actress Delevingne, who shared a variant of the social media memo on Instagram: “The #SuicideSquad is coming to #SXSW let’s see who’s bad enough to get inked.”
