I haven’t even covered the rumors of the A-List writers (who also direct, but are known for being the super writers, if you will) and what they hope to do to end the strike. That’s coming soon!

I know that the WGA is behind this action. If you goto there site you can read there reasons.

I think basically its a good strategy to force the studios to hire writers. Worldwide Pants is putting them in the vice.

Whatever we can do to get them back talking I think overall is a good thing.

The WGA is out front of NBC in force today….
Just drove by there and there’s alot of media trucks as well.

If I remember correctly, none of them (except maybe Dave and Craig) will be able to do monologues. Some kinda rule with the WGA, I think.

Dave without writers 20 years ago was terrible! Though I don’t watch The Daily Show, imagine how it’ll be? No witty sayings, etc. Uh oh. It’d be better to stay OFF the air!

I’m curious, too. What is all the hand-wringing about these guys not being able to present material? I’m sure half the places they deliver laughs are called IMPROVS. If they can’t do it, call in former members of Whose Line Is It Anyway, Thank God You’re Here, or Saturday Night Live. Or wacky nonstop comedians like Dennis Miller, Robin Williams, or Wanda Sykes?

This is the time comedians are most useful. The value of a jester, if you will, is to expose flaws and weaknesses. What better time than during a presidential race?

I’ve read elsewhere that this is actually causing a schism in the WGA and may end up having others return to work through some legal loophole that allows them to cross the picket line without getting booted from the union.

I’ll admit, I’m curious about how Jay Leno will be managing since he won’t have writers. Will he do the same kind of show he’s done from the start, or will be change to an all interview format? Will he get guests worth watching?

I’m curious, but I don’t know that I’ll be watching to find out. I’m too strongly supportive of the writers to feel comfortable doing so.
