Liz, that’s an GREAT connection. Alan Moore’s mentioned that a few times. Would the filmmakers want to risk yanking his chain even further though?

I always saw Constantine as something of an alter-ego for Moore: the charismatic, morally ambiguous working-class warlock. Bearing in mind Constantine’s look was based on Sting playing the devil in Brimstone And Treacle (remember “The honorable Gordon Sumner” and the “Newcastle” thing?), there’s the possibility Moore’s claim might have been a veiled reference to him having confronted some evil part of himself or whatever. I think he sometimes wilfully blurs the boundaries between the real and the surreal.

So if I were anyone from the film industry that substituted Keanu for a man’s profound inner journey, the very last thing I’d be doing is poking a stick into that hornet’s nest. But yeah, what other explanation is there? They’ve just not thought it through, have they?

Bizarre and not exactly keeping with the marketing of the movie. Remember Blair Witch’s original site? They made it seem real. Trying to do that now with Watchmen doesn’t work.
