You’ll notice I don’t post a lot of Star Wars related news here at Screen Rant. The reason is basically that George Lucas murdered the saga for me with his three prequel movies. That’s it, plain and simple. I think the man became:
A. Too full of himself (understandable I suppose considering the money and power he wields).
B. Too enamored of the VFX/CGI at the expense of the story and characters.
Having said that, I did enjoy the mini-episode animated Clone Wars saga that was broadcast on Cartoon Network. Lucas was pretty much hands-off on these and they were created by Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack.

Well for all of you die hard Star Wars fans that were NOT jaded by the Phantom Menace and Hayden Christensen as Anakin, there’s a brand new Clone Wars series coming out soon. This one will be CGI and will be full (half hour?) episodes as opposed to five minute clips.
I’ve watched the trailer and personally I think it takes itself too seriously. Maybe it’s the music, I don’t know, but it almost seemed like a parody of itself to me.
You can see the trailer at StarWars.com.
I’m sure most folks will disagree with my opinion on this. ![]()

It looks ok to me, but to be honest, all it really looks like is a fleshed-out CG version of the Clone Wars story we already know about. Seems like a lot of trouble/money to retell what’s becoming an already tired story.
I’d prefer Knights of the Old Republic myself…
I loved Samurai Jack!!!
I haven’t seen Episode I or II of Star Wars. I have seen Revenge of the Sith once, but personally I am, without a doubt, a fan of the original three as opposed to the prequels. Especially Return of the Jedi
Vic (an old school Star Wars fan)
I like the idea of finally getting a more action oriented cartoon with 3d computer animation. It would be cool if these focused on the Galactic Civil War.It would be even cooler if there were a 3d computer animated version of the Justice League or the Avengers or the Fantastic Four like this.Maybe there will be one day. I used to hate the prequels but don’t as much as I used to because I enjoy watching how Palpatine takes over everything. He reminds me a LOT of President Bush these days with his “freedom for security” thing. Maybe there is a secret message in the Star Wars prequels……….
JLA would definitely be cool in 3D.
Do you remember that short-lived Spider-Man 3D animated series on MTV?
