Excitement continues to build for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first standalone anthology film in the Star Wars franchise. Lucasfilm has put together a sizable marketing campaign to date, unveiling three trailers, numerous posters, and details about all the new characters. This past weekend saw the release of the first TV spot for the film, and the studio will most likely kick their advertising efforts into overdrive over the course of the next month.

Regardless of how many more promos come out, a sizable portion of the moviegoing public has already decided that they will see Rogue One as soon as possible. It's become common in recent years for viewers to pre-order their tickets, guaranteeing a spot for an early screening of a highly-anticipated blockbuster. With Rogue One a little over a month out from premiering (as of this writing), many have been wondering when tickets for the film will go on sale. Now, a possible time period has been revealed.

Per a Facebook post for the Swiss cinema chain Verkehrshaus Filmtheater (hat tip Star Wars News Net), people will be able to purchase tickets by the end of November 2016. An exact date has not been announced at this time, but given that this information is coming from a noteworthy European theater company, it seems very plausible this is the case. Still, fans would be recommended to take this development with a grain of salt, at least until Disney offers a statement on the matter.

Lending credence to this, however, is the fact that ABC will provide an exclusive look at Rogue One during their Disney Holiday Celebration telecast on Thanksgiving Day. That would be as good a time as any to make tickets available, since the program will most likely draw in a sizable audience. The studio undoubtedly wants to make advanced sales a major event, just like they did last year with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Mouse House is managing commercial expectations for the spinoff, but they obviously still believe it will be one of the top earners of the holiday season. Not only is the Star Wars name big enough to generate interest, Rogue One sees the long-awaited big screen return of Darth Vader.

Some viewers may be surprised that Rogue One tickets aren't already on sale, especially considering ones for Episode VII were available two months before its theatrical release. That said, The Force Awakens was a special occurrence as the first new Star Wars film in ten years and was never going to be the norm for the franchise moving forward. If November 24 is when Rogue One tickets go public, that gives people three weeks to plan their trip to the multiplex, which is more than enough time. By then, hype for the film will truly be at a fever pitch, so the argument can be made Lucasfilm couldn't have planned this any better.
