Ever since the debut of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2008, animation has been at the forefront of Star Wars storytelling. The Clone Wars wouldn’t survive past the Disney acquisition, but Star Wars Rebels has picked up its torch, continuing the story of several major characters, such as Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul, and Saw Gerrera, with some elements even ending up on the big screen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The first half of Star Wars Rebels season three covered a lot of ground: Grand Admiral Thrawn is on the prowl for the Rebel base, Kanan met Bendu, Maul is back in the mix, and Sabine is training to use the darksaber. The show is currently on hiatus, but when it returns, Sabine is going to use the Mandalorians’ respect for the darksaber to try and recruit the them to the Rebel cause.
The full trailer for the second half of season three teased several major events, including Thrawn finding the Rebel base on Attolon, the disparate Rebel cells beginning to unite, and a long awaited showdown between Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine. Now, thanks to Screener TV’s TV listings (hat tip to Jedi-Bibliothek), we also have titles and descriptions for for the entire second half of season three.
Potential Major Spoilers Below
The biggest reveal from this new information is that it looks like the confrontation between Maul and Obi-Wan will only be a single episode before the two part finale featuring Thrawn’s final strike on the Rebel Alliance, which will air back to back on March 25th.
It’s also interesting to note that Rebels was renewed for a third season in November of 2015, but there is still no announcement for fourth season plans. It was announced a few months ago that Dave Filoni was stepping down as supervising producer to take a role overseeing all Star Wars animation. Since Rebels is the only Star Wars show right now (other than the non-canon LEGO Freemaker Adventures), could there be additional Star Wars shows in the works? If that’s the case, we can expect to get confirmation at Star Wars Celebration in April.
Until then, check out the details for the remaining season three episodes below:
