There are perhaps no two greater blockbuster properties to arise out of the Hollywood system in the late twentieth century than Star Wars and Indiana Jones. In light of the wildly successful theatrical release of Episode VII: The Force Awakens and with actor Harrison Ford and director Steven Spielberg set to return to the latter world of everyone's favorite Nazi fighting archaeologist on the big screen by Summer 2019, it would appear that now would be the time for companies to start partnering up to deliver merchandise aplenty based on both aforementioned iconic properties.

And that is just what Acme Archives and Mondo appear primed to do, as the two have struck up a partnership wherein Mondo will produce brand new screen prints to be distributed in conjunction with Acme Archives. The pair will produce original artwork based on characters from the very same original George Lucas properties previously mentioned, in Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

To kick things off, Mondo artist Mike Mitchell has unveiled a brand new Star Wars printed titled "Red One" that features Luke Skywalker in profile in X-Wing flight gear, with the first original piece of Indiana Jones memorabilia forthcoming. The first print will be made available to purchase for the next 72 hours at the time of this writing, and fans of the first exclusive print can expect to see more pieces like it featuring characters from other beloved properties such as The X-Files, various DreamWorks Animation productions, and more. New Star Wars Poster From Mondo

Some fans of Mondo's work in the past might remember the 2010 limited run triptych of minimalist reinvention pieces inspired by the original Star Wars trilogy from 2010 from artist Olly Moss, and might be curious as to how Mondo feels about their newfound partnership with Acme productions. On said professional collaboration, Mondo Creative Director Mitch Putnam stated:

"We've been a fan of Acme Archives and what they do for years. I think this partnership presents a really great opportunity for new properties, new artist relationships, and overall, a really exciting bunch of releases."

Likewise, Acme Archives representative Lisa McLain was nothing short of enthusiastic in her own response to working with Mondo, a company for whom she has nothing short of the greatest of admiration and respect towards. On the topic at hand, McLain commented:

"Most of our staff collects Mondo posters and we have always had tremendous respect for their creative direction. We have been working on this relationship for years and are so happy to see it come to fruition."

By the looks of the first piece of original Star Wars art, fans of Indiana Jones and other notable cinematic properties can expect more great work inspired by said franchises in the near future, all of which will be handled with the very same exacting attention and care to detail as can be expected from Mondo and Acme Archives, respectively. There is undoubtedly a deep well of inspiration to draw from in the making of future original screen prints, a sentiment shared by "Red One" artist Mitchell who remarked that, "Star Wars never ceases to inspire me due to its breadth of wonderfully original and creative characters," a facet equally true of the latter mentioned film property and character.
