The latest episode of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny has been released, focusing again on Princess Leia as she teams up with rebel leader Sabine Wren, in a ruse of deception to transfer key information from the Empire.

Disney and Lucasfilm have been churning out these Forces of Destiny episodes at a breakneck pace, having dropped eight episodes in the span of a week's time. It's unclear if this pace will continue, and it appears that we're nearing the end of the first season. But the episodes so far have covered a wide breadth of Star Wars heroines, featuring Rey, Jynn Erso, Padme Amidala, Ahsoka Tano and of course Leia.

Leia gets the spotlight for the third time in the newest episode, titled "Bounty of Trouble" (see the video above). In the short, Leia is forcefully taken from a pair of Empire stormtroopers by a mysterious Boba Fett-like figure. This potential foe reveals herself to be friend, as Sabine has "kidnapped" Leia as a means to rendezvous with her over important information that the princess possesses - information that could be vital to the rebellion in their attempts to topple the Empire. They're not alone, however, as a legitimate bounty hunter by the name of IG-88 is there to take them down.

Once again, it's nice to see these strong female characters use their wits about them to escape a potentially-dangerous situation, but what this episode really highlights is how that feminine strength can be used in a number of ways for good. Sabine works as a revolutionary leader in the open, leading daring missions and fights against the forces of evil. Leia, on the other hand, is slowly trying to cut the Empire from the inside (this takes place presumably before A New Hope) by leaking information and secrets to the rebellion as their informant.

Sabine Wren is a major character on the animated Disney XD show Star Wars Rebelswhich takes place in-between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope and follows the covert operations of a group of rebel characters. The show has been airing since 2014 and will be heading into its fifteen episode final season later this year. Princess Leia needs no introduction, a major character in the original trilogy and the new sequel trilogy and a pop culture icon. It's exciting to see these two important characters from two very different eras of the franchise come together, even in the short, vignette form that Forces of Destiny affords them.
