The popular YouTube channel Bad Lip Reading has posted a new video taking aim at the blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens, featuring guest star Mark Hamill voicing Han Solo. Ever since Episode VII premiered in December 2015, its status as a pop culture phenomenon has made it ripe for a number of internet parodies that poke fun at everything from its similarities to A New Hope to how the film should have actually ended. Though it's been almost two years since The Force Awakens debuted, many fans are still analyzing the movie quite closely in preparation of The Last Jedi.

With Star Wars Celebration only a week away, the timing couldn't have been better for Bad Lip Reading to offer their amusing spin on the saga's most recently released episode. The channel has a long history with the galaxy far, far away, including a number of hysterical music videos that reveal Yoda's hatred of seagulls (among other topics). This is a more traditional video (i.e. no songs), but it will still change to way viewers see some of Star Wars 7's most dramatic scenes. You can watch it above.

Among the highlights of this installment is a hilarious rendition of the sequence where Chewbacca receives treatment on his wounds when he arrives on the Resistance base. In the actual movie, he's bragging about his heroics to the nurse, but here the two show some sort of romantic interest in each other and agree to go on a date. Reimagining BB-8 as a bloodthirsty robot eager to destroy people is a nice touch as well, creating a humorous juxtaposition with his cute physical appearance. Hamill is clearly having fun playing Han, giving his best effort to replicate Harrison Ford's trademark gruff delivery. The actor has long proven himself to be immensely talented voicing a wide variety of characters (most famously the Joker), and it's entertaining to hear him portray Solo. At times, Hamill's voice is unrecognizable.

Unsurprisingly, Kylo Ren is a star of the video, and Adam Driver's praised performance becomes even creepier when Lawrence Kasdan's dialogue is replaced. In his first sequence, the villain makes a rather unsettling advance towards Rey, asking if he can buy the scavenger a drink before quoting Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. Some Star Wars fans have theorized Rey and Kylo could become a couple (considering they're not related), but this probably isn't what those viewers had in mind. Han Solo's emotional death scene is turned into a bizarre moment where Kylo tries to impress his father with a bird finger puppet he made. Instead of being stabbed by a lightsaber, Han backs away slowly and lives to see another day, so it's not all bad. There are other sequences that play as "weird" (like Han and Leia's conversation), but that's in line with the Bad Lip Reading brand.

With last year's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story recently hitting Blu-ray after its own successful theatrical run, it won't be surprising if Bad Lip Reading gets around to spoofing the first spinoff film in the franchise. Fans may have to wait a while for that particular video, however, seeing that a year separated Episode VII's home media debut from this being published. In the meantime, as viewers plan to rewatch The Force Awakens ahead of The Last Jedi's trailer unveiling, they can find a lot of joy in this bit of comedy.
