Like many young actors on the cusp of making it big, Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan's dance card is filling up fast with both confirmed roles and rumored ones. Not only is he set to play the grandson of Apollo Creed in a Rocky spinoff movie, rather appropriately titled Creed, he also just completed filming on romantic comedy That Awkward Moment and is rumored to have auditioned for a number of different roles in three major upcoming sci-fi movies.

Things might be literally heating up for Jordan if the talk of him playing Johnny Storm in Fox's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot comes to fruition. Jordan confirmed rumors that he was in talks for the role a while ago, and has now said in an interview with The Associated Press that he's still "Definitely interested in the project." Like the casting of Lawrence Fishburne as Perry White in Man of Steel and Idris Elba as Heimdall in Thor (not to mention the talk of Donald Glover playing Spider-Man), there has been a lot of backlash against the idea of a black actor playing a character who was originally white.

There's an interesting debate to be had on the subject, but ultimately any changes between the Fantastic Four comics and the movie adaptations are accounted for by the fact that the movies canonically take place in a parallel universe. Jordan does seem like a good fit to play the cocky young playboy, having already played a similar character with brash charm in Josh Trank's Chronicle, and since Jordan and Trank are good friends it wouldn't be surprising if the actor ends up in The Fantastic Four as well.

On the other hand, Jordan may not even have room for The Fantastic Four in his schedule if he ends up taking on other movie projects. During the interview he also touched on the subject of being considered for a role in Independence Day 2, and confirmed that he has been called in to audition for Star Wars Episode VII. He was non-committal about the former film, saying only that, "if that came true, that would be cool," but was apparently very enthused about the current development of Disney's new Star Wars trilogy:

"I mean, everybody's going in on this project. They're trying to figure out what they want. That's another incredible franchise. It's pretty crazy! ...We'll see how it happens. I don't know how I can do everything."

It certainly does seem as though everyone's in on Star Wars Episode VII; barely a week goes by without us hearing another rumor of a famous name being called in to audition, but so far the only confirmed cast members are Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.

If Jordan manages to land a part in all three movies then it could turn the next few years into a major launching pad for his career. Even starring in just one of them would be a strong move forward, so tell us in the comments which of these franchises you think Jordan would be best suited to.
