‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ New Character Details Revealed?

Published 1 year ago by , Updated June 24th, 2013 at 10:29 am,

Meanwhile, the seventy-something male could be a longtime friend of Han’s – who is expected to appear in Episode VII as, most likely, a seasoned general for the New Republic – and the forty-something “military type” could be a fellow who’s being prepped to serve as Han’s successor. Similarly, it seems to be feasible that Meyers is being considered to play the “fit, handsome and confident” male character that is described above (since the 36-year old actor could easily pass for being in his late 20s, by Hollywood standards).

Of course, there are many ways that Episode VII might go wrong, when it comes to introducing new characters and re-establishing familiar ones (see: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull); not to mention, all of the above speculation could be completely off-base, especially if these details turn out to be incorrect.

All the same, there’s plenty of juicy material to be analyzed and discussed here, so feel free to chime in with your own thoughts in the comments section.

  1. I have heard some rumors going around on Twitter and a few other sites that an “insider” claims Disney and Abrams are looking at an unknown actor named Nicholas Gobel for a key role! I can’t find any information on him though!

  2. Just throwing a theory out (think the ages mostly work out?):

Ben Skywalker = •A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.
Corran Horn = •Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’ t need to be particularly fit.
Jagged Fel = Forty something male, fit, military type.
Valin Horn? maybe does need to be fit? = •Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.

The two teens/young 20 something would be people completely new. (2 of ‘em possibly Padawans for Valin/Ben?) Ages would mean the story happens post EU. Also, just because *this* cast listing doesn’t call for an early 40 something female (a.k.a. Jaina) doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be there.

And O.k., yeah. Corran’s my favorite character from the EU. Sue me.

    • Corran is my favorite character from the EU!! However, he is fit, he has always been a soldier.

  3. I wish I could be part of this movie.

    Maybe I have a chance.

  5. Derek Theler…. young, fit, handsome and confident!!!
    look him up :)

  6. Bah! Why do the Jedi and “Republic” always get all the love… Even RoS made it more about what they did wrong then what the Darkside did right to overthrow the Republic… I’m hoping for a Darker Series… and why center around Jedi AGAIN… sure put some “good guys” in it… but why not show the growth/struggles of a young Sith growing up as the Republic is trying to be reborn. It could actually be the reverse of 4,5,6…. Her desire to “thwart” the Republic… rather than “good” always trying to stop “evil”… it’s overplayed.

    • No one cares about the Sith, they have no sense of wonder or rarely do, and spend all their time waxing rhetoric about how uberz they are. If not that they’re warring.

They’re simply boring and outdated. Jedi are always progressive and wouldn’t give 2 anys about the Sith, if the Sith weren’t always trying to kill them.

  7. I don’t think Disney will be paying the EU much attention, if any. I think we need to start thinking about original character possibilities.

  8. I am interested in this movie I am 13 but look older and have an account on starnow and is really interested in this movie
