Star Wars: Clone Wars is back!
Mar 21, 2005 by Vic Holtreman
UPDATE: You can now see all 5 episodes of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume II online HERE.
Thanks so much to Coming Soon for the heads-up that Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume II starts tonight. I wouldn’t have had a clue it was going to be on if not for catching that bit of news eariler today.
For those very few of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, Clone Wars is a series of short (5 minute long) animated clips in serial form which take place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The man behind these is Gendy Tartakovsky, whose previous works include Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory. For more info and a summary of what happened during Volume I visit Cartoon Network or better yet pick up a copy of Volume I on DVD.
This volume will consist of 12 minute long episodes instead of the 5 minute format of Volume I. If you haven’t seen these, I highly recommend that you do because so far this series has been everything that the past two films have not been… namely: Excellent.
We actually get to see Jedi fighting the Clone War. What a concept, eh? There are the requisite space battle scenes, aliens and their worlds, but there’s a great story here and much more depth to Anakin Skywalker than in the last two flicks, as well as some really kick-butt large scale and one-on-one battles.
It’s a great bridge between “Clones” and “Sith” and it will also serve to give Star Wars junkies a “fix” between now and May. I wouldn’t miss ‘em.
Around the web:

Vic, does this mean that the actual Clone Wars might not be seen in “Revenge of the Sith” and will be explored here?
Simone,
Just as we saw the very beginning of the Clone Wars in the previous film, I think we’ll be looking at the end of it in this film with the bulk of it taking place during the cartoon.
Of course I’m don’t like to read spoilers, so this is an educated guess on my part.
Vic
I had hoped that you wouldnt give anything away with your reply as I was also trying to be good and stay spoiler-free, well done Vic!
Saying that, the Clone Wars DVD wont be released here in the UK unitl May, still a long gap!
Hey Simone, have you noticed that the official Star Wars site has been completely overhauled for Episode III?
FYI, under “Story” there is a very high level synopsis that could be considered slightly spoilerish.
Vic
I’ve just been there yesterday and again today, boy isnt it VERY RED??? VERY VENGEFUL?
Have you tried refreshing your browser? Cause it shows you different characters and with different themes! I cannot believe they are doing this to me, it’s killing me softly!!!
Uh-oh, spoilerish you say, I am staying away from that then! LOL
Yep, I noticed the rotating cast of characters. BTW, it stinks that you won’t be able to watch the Clone Wars series before the film comes out!
Vic
I knowwwwwwwwww and dont remind me!!!!!
Well, if they release at least a couple of days before then it wouldnt be so bad, I’ll be able to squeeze it in. I assume you got it already?
I watched them when they originally aired on Cartoon Network and I’m now watching Volume II.
Vic
will there be a volume three, because i think i’ve seen hints/references/websites/ mentioning episodes 26-30?
xeth
There is an upcoming cartoon series and a live action series, both of which will take place during the Clone Wars.
Vic
This is cool, you have to try it. I guessed 63326, and this game guessed it! See it here – http://www.funbrain.com/guess/
