Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Book of Boba Fett episode 4!

In The Book of Boba Fett, the mighty gladiator Wookiee known as Black Krrsantan attacks a group of Trandoshans seemingly unprovoked in a Mos Espa bar. While Krrsantan is quite aggressive, his attack isn't one of random violence like it may have seemed, nor is it personal. Instead, his hatred towards Trandoshans stems from a dark point in Star Wars history.

In The Book of Boba Fett, Black Krrsantan was hired to be an enforcer for the Twins, Jabba the Hutt's cousins seeking to claim his territories after his death in Return of the Jedi. However, thanks to Lord Fett, who laid claim to the region, the Twins sent Krrsantan to kill the former bounty hunter-turned-crime lord, though the brutal Wookiee was ultimately defeated. While Fett attempted to return Krrsantan to the Twins in exchange for the Hutts' renouncing their claim, they were leaving Tatooine anyway in the face of another syndicate seeking to claim Mos Espa, offering the Wookie as a gift (though Boba Fett set Krrsantan free instead).

Now, The Book of Boba Fett episode 4 sees Black Krrsantan drinking alone in Sanctuary, the Mos Espa bar owned by the Twi'lek Garsa Fwip. Angrily watching a group of Trandoshans, Black Krrstantan eventually gets up and starts attacking them, only to be stopped by Fwip just before he's about to tear off an arm of a victim. While she tries to stop him by making a deal, he ignores her and rips off the Trandoshan's arm anyway. However, Krrsantan's hate for the reptilian humanoids comes from an ancient blood feud between Wookiees and Trandoshans that has lasted for centuries in the Star Wars galaxy. Given the dark history and rivalry of Wookiees and Trandoshans, one could argue that Krrsantan was justified as Wookiees have been hunted for their pelts and sold as slaves by the predatory reptilians for centuries in the Star Wars continuity. As such, even Han Solo's first mate Chewbacca would have likely ignored Garsa Fwip as well.

This isn't the first time the brutal Wookiee/Trandoshan rivalry has been seen in Star Wars. During The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano was involved in the Transoshan's poaching attempts as she helped Chewbacca, resulting in continued conflict between the two races whose homeworlds are dangerously close to one another. Given Trandoshans' culture and belief systems being centered around the hunting of other species for their god known as the Scorekeeper, they were very much the aggressors (especially with Wookiees having the highest point values). Unfortunately, only a very small portion of the Trandoshan species was known to reject the predatory ways of the majority. Likewise, while the most famous Trandoshan, known as Bossk, was hired by the Empire along with other bounty hunters in Empire Strikes Back to find Han Solo, his personal mission was to hunt down and kill Chewbacca.

Clearly, putting a Wookiee in a room with Trandoshans never ends well, especially when the specific Wookiee in question is Black Krrsantan in The Book of Boba Fett. It's not surprising that the former gladiator ignored Garsa's request for him to stop in exchange for clearing his bar tab, though settling his debt afterward does show that he has some honor. Regardless, the simple fact remains that Wookiees and Trandoshans will likely never get along in the Star Wars galaxy (no matter what's offered).
