A full trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II has been unveiled at Star Wars Celebration. The convention has already brought with its fair share of big Star Wars reveals; it opened with an emotive tribute to Carrie Fisher and yesterday's The Last Jedi panel gave audiences the long-awaited trailer. It's not just movies though; this morning we got a sneak-peek of Rebels Season 4, and now it's video gaming's turn.

Battlefront II has been an anticipated release pretty much since the first EA game hit in late 2015, and since it was tactically confirmed hype has only grown. A trailer teaser was released online earlier in the week that confirmed the two long-rumored features of the anticipated sequel: a single-player campaign and battles from all three main eras of the galaxy far, far away. Now we have an even better idea of what we're in for come November 17.

At their Celebration 2017 panel "The Galaxywide Premiere of Star Wars Battlefront II", EA revealed the full trailer for the game, which you can see above. A set of images for the game has also been revealed, which can be seen in the gallery below.

The meat of the trailer is the single-player campaign, which per the panel will focus on Inferno Squadron, a team of elite Imperial troopers, specifically Iden Versio. Told over several chapters, the story follows Versio from the destruction of the Death Star II at the end of Return of the Jedi up to The Force Awakens that sees her meet several famous characters with the primary purpose of showing an alternative side of the conflict.

There's also a focus on the wider gameplay alterations, most fundamentally the fact the game will span all eras of Star Wars - the prequel, original and sequel trilogies (as well as Rogue One) - with playable heroes from all. The highlight of the trailer has to be the epic tease of Darth Maul going against Yoda, but there's a lot of characters and battles on show - most prominently the climax of Kylo Ren in action.

Overall, Battlefront II looks to be a very impressive game and one that addresses many of the criticisms leveled against the 2015 original, and the trailer excellently sells that. The "Galaxywide Premiere" panel featured even more information and surprises, including details about the massive campaign and the major upgrades made to the multiplayer.

Star Wars: Battlefront II is released on November 17, 2017.
