The first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II hints at a campaign mode and confirms more familiar characters for the game. Since Disney and Lucasfilm relaunched Star Wars in 2015, the big focus came with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. However, with television, comics, and novels fleshing out the new official canon, the return of Star Wars Battlefront brought excitement for many. Unfortunately, the game proved to be very repetitive, void of a campaign mode and more familiar faces. This has made many more pessimistic about what else could come for the game franchise, but it looks like EA has answered the call.

It has previously been confirmed that Battlefront II would feature a campaign mode, but the game developers were also sure to focus on bringing in more familiarity. Well, both of these have been further confirmed with the first teaser trailer for the game dropping early.

Vimeo user TheSpicinberg (via SWNN) posted the first piece of official marketing for Battlefront II. The teaser trailer (featured above) may as well be a TV spot for the game, but it still packs a lot of information into just 30 seconds. The footage hints at a campaign mode, but whose story it will be is not clear. The other reveal that may be much more exciting for fans is the confirmation of a few new Force users making appearances as Darth Maul, Yoda, Kylo Ren, and Rey are all featured.

Battlefront II trailer Star Wars Battlefront 2 Teaser Trailer Confirms All Eras

The confirmation that characters from all eras of Star Wars will be making appearances is frankly great news. While the first game featured the original set of characters and a few newbies from Rogue One, the promise to play as fan favorite heroes and villains from all points in this universe should be incentive enough for many to give the game another chance.

Since this is only the first teaser in what should be a long marketing campaign for Battlefront II, it is very possible that even more characters are confirmed later. This could open the door for Finn and Poe to appear, but also the chance of other prequel characters like Qui-Gon Jin or Mace Windu. It would also be especially great to see them bring in animated series characters like Ahsoka, Ezra, or Kanan. Those are more unlikely at this point, but would go a long way in bringing in characters from all corners of canon.

With Star Wars Celebration happening later this week, these and other announcements should be coming as the week comes to a close. Stay tuned to Screen Rant for further updates on Star Wars: Battlefront II and the rest of Star Wars.
