Now that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is about to hit home media, Lucasfilm and the Star Wars fan base are starting to turn their full attention to Rian Johnson's hotly-anticipated The Last Jedi. The eighth chapter in the famed Skywalker family saga picks up just moments from its predecessor, which left audiences on quite the tantalizing cliffhanger as young Rey encountered a grizzled and weary Luke Skywalker. Ever since the youngster held out the lightsaber, viewers have been eager to see what happens next.

Fortunately, it won't be that much longer until the movie finally gets a teaser trailer. While the general public should get a great look at the film during this year's Star Wars Celebration even in Orlando, some footage was screened at a Disney Investors' Conference, revealing some Luke Skywalker dialogue (among other things). Now, a full description of what was shown during the presentation has been unveiled.

/Film was contacted by someone at the meeting and received a rundown of the brief scenes part of the sizzle reel. Unsurprisingly, the preview was focused heavily on Luke and Rey. In addition to Skywalker's "Who are you?" query, there are also shots of Rey practicing her lightsaber technique as Luke teaches her the ways of the Force. In a shot that sounds reminiscent of Superman's first flight in Man of Steel, there is also a part where Rey places her hand on the ground, causing pebbles and dirt to hover around it. It would appear a majority of her arc this time around will deal with her training as she moves closer to accepting her destiny.

Finn and Poe Dameron in Star Wars The Force Awakens

Of course, the two (last?) Jedi are not the only characters in the film. Poe Dameron is shown with his good pal BB-8 in his X-wing, preparing for a battle as he says, "It's now or never." Viewers also got to see Finn in a First Order officer's uniform, confirming the previous rumors his mission involved going undercover. The footage had him on board a ship, which theoretically could be the First Order's Super Star Destroyer. Brief glimpses of familiar faces Captain Phasma, Chewbacca, and General Leia Organa were also included, as well as teases of a space set piece. One shot depicted fighters flying through the Resistance fleet, so it sounds like Johnson has some intense dogfights planned.

Attendees also saw what happened immediately after Luke saw his old lightsaber. He accepted it from Rey, held it with both hands, and looked towards the camera before the reel cut. This is certainly a lot for fans to take in all at once, and it will be interesting to see which of these scenes makes it into the official trailer. Anything from Episode VIII was going to be in high demand, but the emphasis on Luke is considerably exciting, especially after his glorified cameo in The Force Awakens. Audiences cannot wait to see what the old Jedi has been up to, and word is Hamill's long-awaited return lives up to the hype.
