Here’s another set of character posters for JJ Abrams’ Star Trek movie

At the recent Vegas-Con, Paramount released another set of Star Trek character posters. These feature John Cho as Sulu, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy and Anton Yeltsin as Chekov.

Once again they’ve bathed the characters in primary colors, making it difficult to make out clearly what they really look like in character, but at least it’s something.

Check out the four posters below.

Although in my opinion the most unusual bit of Star Trek casting was Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy, for some reason I have a feeling he’s really going to nail it. Although Simon Pegg doesn’t look the part, I think he’s versatile enough to pull off Scotty. Yeltsin as Chekov – no big deal. Just play it with an accent and wide-eyed. John Cho I don’t know about as Sulu though.

What do you think?

Star Trek opens on May 8, 2009.

They can find some excuse, like he was manning the bridge on a different shift for the first season.. Junior to Mitchel among others. Then too sometimes you put experienced people on the odd shift to shepherd the inexperienced.

  3. Awww, 790! Don’t be so hard on yourself…. :p

    LOL, Big Dentist. :D

  4. I think I’m gonna wet my pants watching this film on the big screen when it comes out.

But ya, agreed about Urban. I’d like to finally see him in a non-killing-people type of role, y’know?

And Quinto…I mean, I think he’s a son or time-travelled version of Nemoy, I’ve never seen such resemblance between unique looking actors

  5. Why post fuzzy images from TrekMovie when the Official Star Trek Movie site has high-quality wallpapers of these new movie posters?

Look in the Downloads section of the official site…

Because the “fuzzy” versions become available online 3 days before they arrived on the official website.

    That’s why.

  7. Some have or never heard the adage “Get it while it’s hot!” Besides SCREENRANT is a one shop stop for genre movie news. (:

  8. i swear to GOD if thy put tribbles in this film.
    i am gunna scream !

  9. WAR-MACHINE, tribbles are in the picture, that came out a few months ago on Trekmovie.

    (Covering ears!)
    8-)

  10. Everytime I think of Simon Pegg as Scotty I laugh. Scotty was sarcastic at times and think Pegg was a good choice. I’m having difficulty with Pathfinder as Dr. McCoy, I just cant see it. It will be interesting to see Cho in a more “serious” role.
