This is welcome news indeed. I’m really hoping there going to faithfully kick Star Trek ars in this new film.
Area 51 has no part in that film.

The picture of the Enterprise looks fricken perfect I have no probs at all. Great job JJ!
They even have the old school bussard collectors, I didn’t think they would follow that close to cannon but they did… Great work!

Wow, this Enterprise would be tough??

That would be great!!!! Don’t you think it’s embarrassing usually when the enemy vessels have just fired their first volley of shots, and the Enterprise’s security head (whether Chekov or Worf) report that the shields are falling, the photon torpedoes are offline, and other such nonsense?

Hopefully this ship can take a beating.. hopefully it is tough, brutish and robust like a hot-rodded American Muscle with a big-block engine shoehorned under its bonnet.

Jae,

What a great “vision” for the Enterprise! From Orci’s comments it seems like that’s the direction they’re leaning towards.

Fascinating but not new. The USS Tsiolkovsky – The Next Generation: The Naked Time – was according to its dedication plaque built and launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in 2363.
