Star Trek is getting a bit “thin,” kind of like a network video game that had to be made on a deadline (and does not exactly keep its player’s minds “closed” in the artifical world).

Sure it’s always been that way, but Trek is now unwatchable; I don’t know what those people in the “Trekkies” doc. film are doing who dressed up like “StarFleet” people evey day working at the Kinkos or at their Dental Practice. They probably did that Klingon suicide ritual or something :)

The heck with it, I watch the original on DVDs, everything else is an abomination, especially the one with that Shakespearean-trained, skirt-wearing French captain

That’s it, I’m setting all of my next generation action figures on-fire in a Hendrix-style artistic capper.

Chris,

Make that was unwatchable. That’s the point of my article. Coto seems to have really turned it around.

Give it a shot. :D

I didn’t know what to make of the season premiere (slow and boring IMHO), but other than that, it hasn’t been half bad. I especially liked the episode where Archer blew himself out into space unprotected for a few seconds to avoid being killed in a self-destruct sequence. Way cool… And did my eyes and ears deceive me, or did Brent Spiner actually put in a performance that didn’t fall under the “hamola” category?

I liked the first two or three seasons of TNG, but then my eyes started glazing over. I don’t think I ever saw a whole episode of Voyager or DS9. The original series is classic, though. That cast interacted really well, and the episodes were cheesy but entertaining.

I was so excited about Enterprise when it was about to premiere. And then as me and some buddies gathered around a TV together to whatch the first episode… we heard that DREADFUL Rod Stewart song as the THEME!?!?!?! What the hell was that all about?!?! It pretty much went downhill from there for me.

But I have to agree… I’ve caught a show and a half so far this season and I haven’t minded what I’ve seen. I hope they can “turn this ship around”.
