Even as old as I am now, I hope AMT or ERTL or whoever owns the contract now will put out an old-fashioned model kit. They are really screwing with the original in many ways, but I like the look of the front caps of the nacelles, which I have always suspected played some part in attitude and gyroscopic stability, as well as projecting some sort of guidance in the Warp environment to change the course of the ship at high speeds - something that is not easily achievable for a ship on a ballastic inertial line of travel through a vacuum.

A little trivia: although unseen on TV, the original model's hull lettering was surrounded by a small golden colored outline. Looks like they've copied that feature for this film.

I don't know ... I still think this movie will be the sequel to LOST in space ... a film where the actors were replaced with Hollywood A-list actors and the technologies were updated, but still the movie fell short of expectations. Sort of like what happened in 1979 to this very franchise, if I remember right.

Based on what I've seen so far, this is entirely a movie preceeding the timeline of the original series, so I don't think we'll be seeing a lot of this ship with our crew on it, but perhaps we'll see a little Robert T. April and far more Chris Pike on the Enterprise.

I am beginning to think those two big turbines have nothing to do with the Enterprise. Maybe they are somehow used to take the saucer section into orbit. They don't look right in comparison to the saucer.

Much to my own chagrin, I'm actually starting to get excited about this project.

This inhancement puts the size of nacelles in a better perspective than the original.

Andy, that's the whole reason I made it! I'm glad you guys like it. I figure it will tide us over until some more revealing shots come from the official channels.
