Both R2D2 and C3PO were depicted as hieroglyphs inside the “Well of Souls” in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

R2 and C-3PO show up as hieroglyphs on one of the columns inside the Well of Souls in “Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark”:

The only other one I remember is “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, where R2 is hanging from the underside of one of the spaceships that buzzes Teri Garr:

I believe this one more than the supposed TF2 cameo, that certainly does look like him.
