Ummm…You know the Batpod “Dark Knight” and Owlship “Watchmen” were both Blu-ray editions, right? The fanciest cases the DVDs came with were bas-relief heads of Batman (Target exclusive, I believe) and Rorshach and Dr. Manhattan (Best Buy exclusives), respectively. It really depends on which movie you’re talking about: “Get Smart” came in a folding shoe-phone replica at Best Buy, while “Iron Man” came in either a version 2 or version 3 shellhead case (Target, I think) or a packaged-with-a-mini-bust-and-Sideshow-Toys-card, as did “Indy 4″ and “Hellboy 2″ (Best Buy for the three).

Various exclusives come with various films, but USUALLY, the Blu-ray has the better incentive/premium, because the companies are still trying to attract more people to switch over.

Your not alone, sometimes I see my friends whispering when I put a movie in my DVD player!
Of course it doesn’t help that my TV is only 720p, a Blu-ray would be a waste of resolution

All those extras are awful enticing, but I think I’ll wait for the Super Special Edition Directors Cut including Deleted Scenes, Bonus Features, Commentary and More, With a Free Trial On-line Multi-Player Game for PC’s and MAC

I was just wondering after reading the book, on the last page a “lost” dog beams on board the Enterprise from transwarp. Is it possible an out take or deleted scene will be in the bluray? REALLY wish that was put into the movie… there are always posibilities.

Sounds like the old DVD game first it was the plain edition on to the special ed the super special edition etc directors cut theem the lost footage cut and finally the final directors cut. please give us a break studios!

Yes you can also reserve it at FYE. Surprisingly enough ( at least at the one I shop at) you can pre -order the dvd of movies the same days they come out. Of course they give you a generic release date, but its nice to have the early jump on some things.

Wow, somehow I spent all my time jazzed about how awesome the movie was that I didn’t even think of what the Blu-ray version might hold. This is a pleasant surprise.

Yeah I agree the digital copies are a joke and just add more waste to the planet. I can also live without game demos.

Unless the Blu-Ray container comes in the shape of the USS Enterprise I’ll stick with plain old 2 disc special edition dvd. Blu-Ray needs to come down in price AND IM TIRED OF THE CORPORATIONS FORCING DIGITAL COPIES UPON US!!!!

I think its just a matter of time. I know that the BluRay version of T2 comes in a special Endo Skull case that retails for $150.
If that’s what your into,,, I’ve got so much collectable junk that I find nowadays I’m happy with less. I’m sure there will be some kind of Enterprise case or collectable deal with Star Trek.

I’m excited. A 3 disc Blu ray seems very cool. The only thing I really hate about Blu Ray is that DVD’s get all the cool collectors editions and Blu Ray always gets the plain old boring case. Look at movies like TDK or Watchmen coming out. They have theses very different cases special that you can buy and they are DVD only. It seems pretty unfair.
