Stan Lee has already filmed several more Marvel Cinematic Universe movie cameos, including one for the as-yet untitled Avengers 4 When it comes to the world of superheroes and comic books, there are few legends of as high esteem as Lee, former Marvel Comics boss, and creator (or co-creator) of multiple classic characters that fans cherish to this day. Lee had a a hand in creating folks like Spider-Man, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk – and that’s only to name a few. He’s an icon and revered by both those who love comics and those who love the movies and TV shows those comics are adapted into.
At the age of 94, many fans are rightly concerned about just how much longer Lee will be around to delight grateful fans. Of late, he has begun winding down his time on the convention circuit, which he has been a regular on for decades, becoming famous for his enthusiasm toward meeting with and talking to fans. Thankfully, it looks like Lee’s beloved MCU cameos are here to stay, at least for the next couple of years.
During his appearance at Wizard World Nashville 2017, Lee’s personal manager revealed that the legend has already filmed his cameos for five upcoming MCU entries, up to and including 2019’s Avengers 4. Here’s his full quote on the matter:
“What we can say about Avengers: Infinity War is that he filmed both parts, one and two. We did Ant-Man, we did Black Panther. We did Thor too.”
It was already known that Lee had done a cameo for Thor: Ragnarok, as star Chris Hemsworth has said that he thinks Lee’s cameo in that film is his greatest to date. This is the first confirmation of Lee already having filmed cameos for Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers 4 though.
Noticeably missing from that list is Captain Marvel, which hits theaters in March 2019, prior to Avengers 4’s release. It’s unclear when Lee is planned to shoot a cameo for that, but one presumes it’s on the MCU radar, as is a Lee cameo for 2019’s sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Despite his advanced age, there’s no reason to assume that Lee will be gone anytime soon, so here’s hoping he remains part of the MCU for many years to come.
